Tickets are getting expensive...

Just bought some tickets to the game for Monday...Level 2, $52 ea!

Whats going on? NAB cup tickets were $33, I know thats NAB...but my parents bought tickets to the Carlton game at the MCG and they were roughly the same price. Has there been a price hike recently?

To answer the question I believe the AFL froze seat and GA prices (Although it may have only been GA prices) this year because of the recession so no price hike there.

It's just because you have picked a premium seat, seats can be purchased much cheaper.

I came over for round 1 and got GA tickets at 3 games (with more than adequate seats) for about $12 each at the MCG and Docklands (I think it was $20 if you aren't concession or have a valid student card).

The footy is still cheap.

I think the lesson is, if you don't like the price, buy cheaper seats.
