20-35 IMO he should go for
And i wont even suggest getting rivers to hawthorn, i realise how highly MFC rate him.

If Melbourne finish last with less than 4.5 wins we wil have picks 1 17 18 (dependant on carlton and richmond). I would be happy to give up pick 18 for boyle.

Or if not, how about Miller for Roughead instead?
Sounds like a deal!

Back in reality though, If we get similar picks to Richmond, ie finish last with less then 5 wins, we'll get picks 1, 17, 18, 34, 50, 63.

If you look at last years trade week (age & games at time of trade), jordan mcmahon (24/114) for pick 19, adam schneider (23/98) for pick 26, marty mattner (25/98) for pick 28, mitch morton (20/12) for pick 35, Meesan (21/2) for pick 37, Playfair (24/52) for pick 45.

Boyle is 24 and has played 27 games for 37 goals. He'll be 25 in january next year. I initially liked the idea of boyle and thought maybe he was worth as high as pick 17/18, but i'm changing my mind a little now.

Say we rebuild on a similar path to hawthorn, 2004 was there big draft year (Franklin & Roughead), so that would put us 4 years away from being in the position that they're in this year. By that season, Boyle will be 29.

I'm not saying we shouldn't pick him up, but if we consider him we need to look at what long term value he'll add to our side.

I wouldn't want us to offer anything more then a 3rd round pick for him, and only if we had picked up some other earlier draft picks.

I wouldn't want us to do what Richmond did last year, they ended up with picks 2, 18 & 51, & only draft 3 young players and trade away all our picks for recycled players.
