Could Timmy D go down as perhaps the greatest bigman of all time? It's a serious question! The guy doesnt have any real weaknessess, his FT% is sometimes a problem but when he really needs to hit them, he usually does.

He has it all, he scores, rebounds, blocks, steals the ball, dishes the rock, runs the floor, leads his team, anything to be done on a basketball floor, he can pretty much do.

I havent checked any stats but from memory he has been ALL NBA 1st team in each of his seasons in the league, even his rookie year? IIRC he has also been in every ALL D team since his rookie year. He is already a 2 time MVP. Has a championship under his belt and is one win away from another. All this and he is, what....26?

Wilt and Russell were in another time and their accomplishments are rather tainted IMO. Kareem has many MVP's, championships etc but he wasnt the complete all round player Timmy D is. Then you have Olajuwon/Ewing/Robinson....and Shaq. IMO it's quite possible that Duncan will be remembered as greater than all those bigmen that came before him.

Slap me if you think Im being ridiculous but IMO, he could go down as the greatest of all bigmen.

when he averages 50 points in a season we will see :P

Another time, another game. That type of stuff just isnt seen anymore. 30ppg is more like the 50ppg that Wilt averaged. I hear that Shaq has hired a personal trainer and instead of using his offseason to relax which he has always done, this off season it looks like it is time to get into shape and get his weight down.

If he really is motivated then Duncan will be up for a huge challenge next year.

Its hard to compare different era's so I personally wouldnt claim he is the best"big man".Not yet anyway

But i have no qualms is saying he is the best power forward in NBA history.

Malone may have good stats but never won when it counted.Neither did Barkley.None of them guys played defence like Tim either.

This theory has always ****ed me off.

If we were talking an individual sport, then fair enough, but we are talking a team sport.

You cannot deride Malone as a player simply because his TEAM never won a ring.

Is Nathan Buckley any less of a player because he's not won a premiership?

Is Joe Misiti a better midfielder then Buckley because his team won a flag?

Tim D might have claims to being better then Malone, but the ring reasoning is rubbish.

*cough* Michael Jordan *cough*

Let's see how many rings TD would have had he played his career in Jordan's era. Malone and Barkley are the two greatest PF's the game has seen. TD has a chance to eclipse them but he has a long way yet.
