In The Age it claims that Peter Schwab and Gary Buckenara have flown to Brisbane for talks with Tim Notting. I would love to see Tim Notting play for Hawthorn next year. However i cant see what Brisbane would want from us. What do u guys think would be a suitable trade for Tim Notting???

Hmm.. wouldn't quite go that far Ds, Hodge and Mitchell for Notting (if you see what I mean). ;)

I really don't know about Notting. Kind of a fan and yet...

He sort of just.. drifts along. Seems to have all the tools to be a really goo footballer but (even allowing for injuries) has never really been cemented in the Brisbane (hard as that may be) side. Awful lot of bench time for a player of his inate talent.

Cant really seem them taking a player from us (or two) and they (Brisbane) have stated (dont they all) they reckon he is worth a first round pick (not bloody likely).

2nd round IF we don't trade away (and I dread that they will.. again) our first round pick(s) *hoping we still trade for Dee's pick five*.

good work me_dane.. looks like you've been brushing up on your caro(line wilson) reading. we all know how much a big fan of hers that you are.

as for what would be a good trade, i reckon we on-trade pick 9 to Brisbane (in exchange for rawlings to Kangas), PLUS one more player - probably from Brisbane.

as good as notting is, he isn't worth pick 9. not in my opinion anyway..

In my opinion, Notting is not much of a player.

He does not seem to be too determined.

He's a class player with two prem medallions round his neck, should have had three but Lethal decided to take a plunge on Sir Richard. Given free reign at a new club is exactly what he needs. Obviously Schwab thinks he's worth a trip to BNE to visit and coax him to Hawthorn.

Living in Brizroy ive had a good look at him. Been a fan for a while now.

If he lets us down ill do a nude run down Queen St mall

Barry Young was a premiership player too.

Madigan, Bortolloto, Athorn, Keating *Aaron*, Anderson.. plenty of players out there who played in Premierships.. doesnt mean they were any good.

Which Anderson, Gren??

Notting would be handy, as long as he's not too expensive (in trading or
paying).

So Schwab catches a plan to Brisbane to talk to Tim Notting during trade week, but Corey Jones is not at all a required player at Hawthorn as part of the Rawlings deal.

Fair enough....

Notting - draft pick is a better proposition (for Hawthorn) than
Rawlings - Jones/draft pick.

As John Hook has said, we want a quality KPP for Rawlings......not another
Dixon/Barlow/Williams-type player.

Sorry, I must be thinking of the Notting that plays for Brisbane............

A flighty HFF'er if ever I have seen one.

Mmmmmm...

Yes take a player like that for a (low?) draft pick NOT when
you're trading a quality KPP, and want like in return.

News tonight suggests Notting is hoping to stay put in Brisbane!

Well.....Schwabby and Bucky must have made a real impact flying up to talk to him!
Probably told him 'Richo' was joining! ;)

The Eagles missed out on one player they were interested in - versatile Lion Tim Notting - after the premiership player ruled himself out of any trade.

Notting yesterday told Brisbane he would be seeing out the final year of his contract at the Gabba after the Eagles had got close to a deal on Monday night.
