After much gnashing of teeth and looking for scape-goats to blame, not only for the disappointment that was Geelong's trading period, but the whole lacklustre effort of the team over the past three years I've deicided to blame Gary Davidson
Who? For those of you who aren't so aware of the internal runnings of the football club, Gary runs the football department. He decides the make-up of the coaching panels, he arranges player and coach contracts, he sees to it that Geelong has everything it needs to be a successful footy team, he is the boss of Bomber and the recruiting staff.
Why Gary?
1/. Failure to put together any sort of package that entices top level players to our club
2/. Running a coaching department run on a shoestring while persisting with has-been assistant coaches who offer no new ideas or inspiration
3/. Being a source of club disunity and dissatisfaction according to various media reports and feedback from explayers
In short Geelong needs a dynamism in the footy department that is sorely lacking, Geelong has over the past twenty years had a strong tradition of under-performing, leading to us being the butt of many an oppositin supporters jokes. Gary Davidson continues this tradition. It's time for him to go!
What can we do?
Well it's time that GFC be made aware of supporter frustration and disappointment. I propose that a letter writing or email campaign be organised to Brian Cook, demanding Davidson's balls! We pay our memberships, we support the club, it's time we had a say!
