Very maligned player (though not as much this year)

Gets accused of being

soft
shirking a contest
spud
weak
pea hearted

blah blah

Last year he was terrible. But much like the team he lacked confidence, composure, constantly second guessed himself and became cringeworthy to watch. It was a massive learning curve for him to jump over and he has really steadied himself this year. Isn't afraid to put his head over the ball as much or be more direct rather than going sideways/backwards all the time.

Great player and will only get better.

Alot of players had average years last year.

Brandon Ellis always has a crack and footwork has been tremendous this year.

A true team Tiger.

Been awesome for us, big tank, great skills on both sides of body..

I dunno why, but I keep waiting for more. Has had a good year and I am stoked he is in the Yellow and Black. Think I have seen things that makes me think he could be better or more consistent maybe.
Still, yes, quality player.
Double cobras FTW!

To be fair. He has been all of those things in the past. There was a lot of murmur getting around that he could be gone remember? He needed to step up and he did.
But you don't get into that position by being a Jet whom some forum posters maligned unfairly. His contested ball needed work. I am sure he has even acknowledged this publicly.

Hardwick game plan changes = Bellis stops being cruelled.

Dimma nearly ruined his career.

Bellis always had it in him to be a very good player, he showed the signs early.

Its no surprise to me hes back to showing us what he can do, now the attacking game plan is back.

geelong put a bit of work into him to try and stop or limit our run.
Same as North last year in the final, was tagged hard. Maybe the head clash with Danger stunned him a bit, but Houli and Vlaustin stood up when Ellis was down, so if they ''minded' him no real problem. His form has been good so hope he clicks come Prelim.

BEllis learnt the hard way. he now is a ground ball king. Apparently gets teased about having to be the first to do groundballs. Still his changed attitude shows. Hard work pays off.

Was thinking the other night, all of a sudden this dude has very few flaws in his game. Good user, elite runner, great overhead, decision making improved out of sight and is actually cracking in this year, a long long way off soft. I dunno what happened before that North Melbourne game earlier in the year but he's been incredibly consistent since then. Glad he's a tiger.
