Ok let me start by saying this.To all the journos out there that totally rely on posters from Big Footy to create the rumour mills heres' something to start the ball rolling again........Where would all your livelyhoods be if it wasn't for us here on big footy?.....I like the way you all picked up the What's wrong withTravis Cloke theory ? That got a lot of mileage in print and TV and guess who started the ball rolling for that rumour ? Ha !
Ok back to business.
Last nights game against Stkilda was a disgrace.
Clearly with injuries now to Fraser,Thomas,Swan and Cloke. we are running out of experience.
Didak likely to miss another few weeks,Medhurst is only 50-50 chance of coming back.Davis has a wrist injury i believe things are looking bleak as the year progresses.
Likely ins for this week only possibly Anthony and beams and davis an outside chance.
We must bite the bullet, and play the kids.
Sidebottom, reid, dawes, wood and the rest must be given as much game time to settle into the side, tank the year and pick up a few players in this last uncompromised draft before the Gold Coast start raping the AFL of all the young talent in the country.
What we have seen is, i believe the players have lost respect for Malthouse and his insipid game plan, and this will continue against Carlton on Sunday.Another shallcking is in store until Malthouse resigns and moves on.He must clearly now know that he can do no more at collingwood,so pass on the reins to an assistant like Scott or whoever as caretaker coach and make your move to Richmond as per planned and thanks for the memories. The, what could have been but wasn't. Close enough but not good enough.
10 Years is ample time for an experienced coach to win a flag.
With three chances at winning a flag ,and coming close but not close enough.........An astute coach who is hell bent on success can recognise the deficiencies in the types of players needed and recruit the right types of players to win flags.
Also an astute coach doesn't keep persevering with players who are not up to it at senior level while the others who need developing languish in the reserves then finally leave the club for greener pastures and find success elsewhere......I still cannot understand why we let Heath Scotland go for nothing, this is just one example.
So i won't keep carrying on but See ya MALTY.......
2010 ...... Come on down NATHAN BUCKLEY (senior Coach)
B SANDERSON (ASS COACH)
SCOTT BURNS (ASS COACH)
Now there's a rumour worth starting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
