This is the Time Time appreciation society. (With apologies to The Kinks:)).

This is for me the best show on free to air by the proverbial country mile. Here are a couple of links for those that are interested.
Official Channel 4 site.
Wiki site.

I have not seen all of the episodes due to the fact that I am not always home but I do try and catch this magnificent show when possible.

From left to right the fabulous host Tony Robinson. In the centre the charismatic Phil Harding and on the right the academic Mick Aston. There are plenty more regular faces in Time Team. For those of you interested (and those not) this is a very accessible show on archeology. The presentation is user friendly and not over powering to the laymen. As a young whippersnapper in the UK my dear departed old man used to take me on jaunts to long and round barrows over the south of England and it has taken this show on the ABC to realise that I wish I had appreciated what he was looking at all those decades ago. I'd love to meet Phil Harding, i think he'd be a delightful and engaging guy who could tell all maner of great stories on so many interesting things.

He's got a cracker of an accent too.

And as previously stated i want a 3some with Katie and Jenny.

I'd have done the Kiwi lass Bridgette too but she left.

I think if you are over there you can go along and be part of a dig if i remember reading rightly somewhere.

One of the broadest Wiltshire accents I have ever heard.
Hows this for a quote from Wikki.

When asked during an interview if he would ever consider leaving Wiltshire to live somewhere else, Harding replied "What would be the point of that?"
Why indeed Phil:).

Nothing like eccentric nutters running around the countryside with a purpose

Two of the favourite presenters in britain are Tony Robinson and Bill Oddie (Birds)

Bit of a bump...

I've found a torrents for Time Team and it appears to be every single episode from 94onwards plus extra goodies.

It's 134GB so a big file, but I missed a lot of the early years so It's good to be able to view them and see how it's changed and grown over the years.

PM me if you want a link to the torrents.

I'm generally not that jealous of the English (I personally think Britian's greatest mistake was sending their criminals to paradise while they remain on that wet, stinking little island :) ) but this show, and occasionally Grand Designs when someone restores an old 14th century Castle, does make me feel that living in Australia we do miss out. Without being disrespectful to the Australia's Aboriginal history, it does seem very plain when compared England's, Scotland's, Ireland's and Wales' histories, and being a lover of history with thousands of history books in my Library, I am very jealous of that.

Great show, great host and a great bunch of characters.

If history was something people enjoyed as a kid some of those settingw would have been wonmderful to go on weekend adventures on the bike as a kid.

Take along a shovel and go treasure hunting.

What a hobby you could have over there.

Study your local areas in libraries for old maps and tales of battles/towns etc

Then go out with a metal detector and see if you can discover anything left behind by those events.
