Other teams would try to isolate him which would be deadly. No doubt re soft , just thought 7 up back would allow less pressure on him
Davis brought a defensive pressure, speed, class, form and a fit body as well the above to the table. Davis, on his form last year and the year before, would have a place forward or back in pies current best 22. Based on last year dids wouldn't. Not an option really. What do u think, sublime kicking, good for kickouts and pinpoint passing... Worked with Davis last year ???

Letting Davis go was a tradgedy.
Don't look back in anger or despair no, the past is irrevocably the past, Davis was a unique situation of a sublimely skilled defensive forward moving to the backline and blossoming. That doesn't come off every day of the week.Davis brought a defensive pressure, speed, class, form and a fit body as well the above to the table. No Davis has been a year by year proposition for a while, he has reportedly been homesick for some time. There is no set formula for back lines or any lines for that matter, we have been using boundary line play for years due to a shortage of precision ball users to take it through the center. Use what you have and adapt the game plan to suit.why not? I am a supporter: anger and despair on a weekly basis is my perogative, the foundation of the incomparable premiership winning experience.
from the club's perspective, I hope they are looking back and learning from the experience. In regards to loosing Davis, surely its a failure to manage the salary cap appropriately. In regards to the future, surely it proves the value of speed and skills in the modern day backline and the sort of player we need to recruit next year to fit our premiership window.

Total agreement on Dids. I do believe the injuries we have had down back have made things look much worse than they are in reality with a fully fit back line.of course there is a 'formula' or guide line for team structure. undoubtedly in any given year we make do with what we have. that doesn't mean we can't identify future types that will give us wider choice than the current game plan has been working so well for us this year ...
bottom line tho, not Dids down back unfortunately

No way for all the obvious reasons that have been stated, Davis left because he hates Buckley and nothing to do with finances.
