Comes down to math:
A - spend 2 seconds looking at each picture, swipe right 75% of the time, expect females to swipe right 20% of the time for you. spend 1 minute viewing profile to decide further. For 100 profiles that's 200 seconds swiping. You'll match on average 15 of those profiles (75% of 20) so that's 15 minutes viewing profiles. Just under 20 minutes. You'll probably discard half of those matches.
B - spend 30 seconds looking at each profile, swipe right 20% of the time, expect females to swipe right 20% of the time for you. You then spend another 30 seconds viewing their profile to decide further. So for 100 profiles you've already spent 50 minutes swiping, and on average you'll match 4 of those profiles (20% of 20).. Just over 50 minutes.
You'll have the same matches in A as you would have in B. You can always unmatch someone but once one of you swipe left then it's over.
Haha I'm usually all about your posts Passenger but I think you've overcooked it a little here, way too much maths going on for a dating app.
Plus I'm not sure being a little more choosy with your initial swipes correlates to more time wasted... I spend a max of 3 secs per bird but just don't swipe right to obvious no's. IMO makes little sense in going hell for leather right with only a limited amount of swipes per day.
