The way i've always seen it, more often than not the worst answer you'll get is no. Most girls are quite nice about it if they're not interested, but just being nice, polite and striking up a convo IRL gets you plenty of bonus points.
If you see like a nice guy and she says to come over and meet her friends one of them will be interested if not the initial one you approached.

I'm not Elle McPherson but I've never had an issue approaching guys. You just need to appear confident. If you walk up and you're a nervous, stammering mess they're going to think you're a weirdo.
Thing is because guys don't really do it unless they are 8 pints in and over the age of 35 with a messy stubble and clutching their deck of cigarettes when someone does it makes a better impression.
And it's cliche but the hotter ones are easier to approach because guys never do.

It's the same with guys. They always seemed so surprised that a girl approached them that it was like shooting fish in a barrel :P
Some of them were put off by it though.

Approaching a woman would be so much easier now I'm older. I think I did stammer when young but somehow fluked it.
Why stammer?
It's just a girl??

Go up and say hello like you would if it was a bloke at the pub waiting in line.

I like it when I'm approached, makes me feel good and takes the pressure off.
That said, I've always enjoyed the fun of meeting people and the risk of getting something started.

Well, yeah. That's what 35 year old me would say. You're more unsure of yourself when younger though.

Guys stammer because women are the gatekeeper to all that is holy. It's a hurdle for many people.

I've always been overly confident so I've never got it really.
You're too confident :P
If you were my age and approached 21 year old me in your leather pants with your necklace and your unbuttoned shirt I would have rolled my eyes and walked off.

You would have been overpowered by my raw sex appeal.

I mean, you have some things going for you, but not everything...and besides, different women are attracted to different men. So you're not going to please 'em all.
We'll see....

Sounds like it's straight out of the pokemon tip book.

Gotta please 'em all.

No good way to answer that, but yes I would say so.
I also meet a lot of people for work so randomly saying hello to someone isn't out of the ordinary for me.

If you have insecurities my advice is just do it, if it blows up in your face laugh about it and move onto the next girl.
It's a numbers game after all.
Do you have anything bar your looks that attracts the women?

e.g. dress sense, hairstyle, hobbies

It feels as if nothing about me interests the opposite sex. Would love some tips if you or anyone else have any!

Really tough question without knowing you. No point not being yourself though. Maybe you are confident with family, friends, school etc. Try to be that person. If you pretend to be somebody else it's obvious to everyone.

Dude, that's depressing. There are a lot more ways to meet women beyond nightclubs and bars. I was always told "Never engage into a long term relationship with a girl you met at a nightclub". From what I have found, that was a very good piece of advice. Meeting a girl through friends, a sporting club, or something where you share common interests can be a much better approach.

Play AFL, even ugly blokes like Cameron Ling can pull decent looking chicks while decent looking AFL players can pull absolute stunners.
