It isn't as simple as taking the number of goals and dividing that figure by their yearly salary. Tippett was being marked by a true defender in Chaplin, White was being marked by Petterd who gives away about 10cm in height and probably doesn't have much experience playing in defence, let alone as a key defender. If Tippett wasn't in the team White would have been marked by Chaplin or Rance for one, and two wouldn't have had the freedom to roam up the ground as much as he has been.

Or maybe it's a reverse Jenkins. He's playing really well because everyone is going to Tippett now and leaving White with the #3 or 4 defender.

Exactly.

Probably a good place for it, Ross Lyon has said on 6PR that Jesse White is high on Freo's list of key forwards they are targetting.. Now he's going to be in demand? :p

Trolling us for certain. He already had the shits with Sando over his presser

Does anyone else get the feeling that, even if guilty, Essendon are somehow going to come off relatively penalty free? In comparison with our sanctions.

Even though ASADA will hand down penalties (if guilty) regarding players, coaches etc, will the AFL grow a pair and give them a league-based penalty (e.g. draft exclusions, fine, loss of premiership points)?

Nope. Essendon will get reamed even if the players get off. AFL will want to make an example of them to ensure no other club tries it again. My guess is they'll be fined about 2 mil, lose draft picks and premiership points and have key staff like Hird and Corcoran suspended or deregistered. Will make our penalties look like a gift.

Don't buy what the News Ltd press is reporting - a lot of it is coming straight from Hird's spin doctors.

Surely their self destruct mode has been penalty enough! After all, it can't be as bad as what the Crows did.......I mean that was 'cheating'!

My thoughts exactly.

Melbourne, fined $500,000 for apparently not tanking, and now the prospect of a priority draft pick. I can see us adding to that, Essendon, fined 2 million for apparently not taking drugs, no sanctions.
Adelaide Crows, guilty of being under the salary cap, no draft picks for two years.

Like your work except I think you missed a word or two... It should read 'Adelaide fined 2 million for Essendon for apparently not taking Essendons drugs, no draft picks for ten years'

While we're at it, there's also this prospect:
GWS do not sign Buddy Franklin, Adelaide fined $250,000, loss of draft picks until the 2016 season, and Dean Bailey suspended for a further 23 rounds.

In hindsight how legitimate do we think Tippett's repeated concussions were last year? I've got a sneaking suspicion that it was another part of his broader plan to exit from the Crows...

or the crows got wind of his deal with the swans and used the doc to say he wasn't ready to play

That he faked the concussions? Seems a little far stretched when looking at the footage and club Medicos reviewing the situation

AND he didn't need to fake. He could just walk as he did in the end

I don't necessarily think he set out with this plan but I am questioning whether perhaps after the first knock or two that he played it up and was not unhappy of the (1) excuse to sit out games and (2) ultimately the excuse he used for choosing to go to Sydney (didn't he say things changed for him after the concussions?).

As to how you fool the system with docs, etc I think it would be pretty easy as a lot of the tests would be based on the player's response.
