I predict by the 2014 season - GWS will be a genuine powerhouse side in the AFL and we will still only just be around the mark as we will have lost another good player or 2.

I don't get why so many of you are getting so cockahoot about Kurt Tippett going to GWS over the swans. We still miss out on everything and he still ends up with a big fat million dollar contract and in Sydney and only 1 or 2 years away from being a powerhouse side.

you are regularly off the mark....I couldn't disgree with you more...again....

I can't wait for us to win the flag next year while Kurnt is sitting at home (where ever that may be in his mind lol) reflecting on the fact that he went from a team that took him to a prelimanery final to a team that's been belted by 100 points a dozen times during the season and people are saying that he's overrated.....he won't have a powerhouse midfield like ours delivering the ball to him and he won't get nearly as many opportunities to kick goals which is really gonna hurt a Kurnt like him as his accuracy isn't usually the best...

yeah there is a major difference from playing on a great crows team to a team like gws....HUGE difference

One thing that works in our favour if Tippett goes there, is that it will put the salary cap squeeze on them big time for at least the next four years. Cameron, Patton, Ward, Davis, Coniglio, Tyson, Whitfield, Toumpas, Greene, Smith, Treloar, Hoskin-Elliott will all be demanding the big bucks in a future $9mil salary cap diminished by Kurt's mil. I'm not at all a fan of either expansion team, but it'd be nice to get on their good side in this situation on order for us to lure an underpaid star in the future.

I do share your trepidation about the future domination of the expansion clubs, but I think retention is the key for those. GC will explode this year after a team wide second years blues and I'm probably alone in thinking they're the more dangerous of the two entities. Gaz will be performing at 32+ and Bock could well do the same; once they've offloaded cap fillers like Brennan, I think they'll more ably retain required players than GWS. Losing Caddy and Krakouer probably won't hurt them all that much, and retaining Bennell when he was on the verge of returning home is a boon for them.

We really need to win a premiership before these clubs get their foot in the door.

True....but there has been no reason to test this in court until now. If I were the Crows hierarchy I'd be looking at all avenues to avoid any penalties, regardless of how trivial they may end up. We should even go for a higher pick from GWS as adequate compensation for the loss of Tippett.

We are not going to test in court, we will cop the wack and move on

Testing it court will just cause us years of future pain and no favors from the afl

Sheedy has always been a fan as he has always liken Kurt to Paul Salmon

However what price do put on playing in front of good crowds, playing in finals and playing with q side with its premiership window truly open
