In terms of what we want for him, we should definitely trade for an outside mid, or KPD. We don't need another tall forward with Jenkins, Lynch, Johnston and Smack waiting in the wings.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I see the silver lining in this. Massive opportunity to capitalise on something we have abundance of (tall forwards) to reinforce something we're in need of (Running Mids & KPDs)

in all seriousness what do Collingwood and Sydney have to offer us at the trade table? GC and Brisbane have picks and/or worthy players... the other tow have ZIP... how can they compete?? (assuming he doesnt nominate a club)

I think Carl has been very humble this morning......

AFGM has guessed the day and for that he deserves our congratulations...

But Carl did say about 2 months ago expect a 3rd party to come in last minute....

So between the 2 of them they have pretty well got it spot on....

And to the turkeys saying it is not about money to Kurt, lol... Pigs do fly
I don't think I ever said that he wasn't leaving? Just disagreed with a number of posters who said we should get rid of him because he's expensive and shit.

And I said all along that our denial of the 'get out clause' was always delivered cautiously with very careful wording. Never emphatic.

The 'theory' I floated was that Cloke was the first domino to fall which is why the other big names were waiting.

Whether another club to Gold Coast is genuinely a possibility or just smoke and mirrors is still up in the air.

Or nothing to do with Neil Craig?

Who made up this "white collar recruiting" policy? Sounds over reactionary and simplistic.

I am no Fantasia lover, but lets be honest... It was a great pick at 32...

100 games service and we are going to get a good player/pick in return...

@rickhenderson45: @JoshJenkins24 @adelaide_fc what happened did the receptionist leave??? You'll fit right in. Hahah

Ricky Henderson, with the win

Sorry... I don't follow twitter at all. Can you tell what the above means? Who is posting it, who is it to and what does it mean?

Which I think is spot on... As soon as Cloke signed any club looking for a key forward/Ruck would have to turn its attention to Kurt and at least ask his manger the question...

I stil think he wants to go to Gold Coast... But he wants the money that is being offered elsewhere..

After the Angwin fiasco the inner sanctum at West Lakes developed a range of recruiting filters that are like the Sydney "no dickheads" rule on steroids. It also fits well with the philosophical views of the Board.

What do Davis, Gunston and Tippett all have in common? The good news is that the demographic that we have targeted do not get caught being drunk and disorderly. The downside is that "club loyalty" is a foreign concept. We need more Tex Walkers and fewer Jack Gunstons. Some people at West Lakes feel that Davis, Gunston and Tippett have been singing from the same song sheet. This is the reason that they were convinced that the leaks from Gold Coast were on the money.

You can expect some changes in recruiting philosophy and this has nothing to do with losing Matt Rendell.

I don't want to mention your favourite bloke, but he had a lot to do with the no dickhead policy. Though, it certainly has far deeper roots.

Now, who wants to name names........

Otherwise, a very salient post.

Also, Jenny and some others - what works in Sydney does not work here.

Jenkins tweeted earlier that he heard a job opening had come up, Hendo replies "what? did the receptionist leave? you'll fit right in"

So we've lost a forward that can't kick straight to save his life and a mediocre 2nd ruckman--meh!
Jenkins and Mckernan have more upside than Tippett.
Part of our problem in recent years is the amount of ball that has been directed at this turkey. Most of it came straight back out of our forward line
I look forward to seeing how we go with a footballer with nous and ability filling Tippett's role

Not sure if I am alone here but I would be dead set keen to see Walker and Fev, he would be free, he would allow us a few years while we groom Jenkins/Johnstone properly..He would be a potent mix with Tex... Wouldn't really feel like we lose too much with Tippett either as a big strong marking body would come in.. It will never happen but I can dream..
In all seriousness Fev is 32 in Round One next year and has spent years living the 'country footballer' lifestyle eg. too much shit food and booze. He'd take more than a year to get up to speed/fitness and by then he'd be too far gone to make it as an AFL footballer again.

Sydney may struggle to factilitate a trade but for the first time in along time we actually may have some trade currency.

Wellingham is likely to go which will net us pick 16/17 from one of the WA clubs.

This will leave us with two first round picks in 16/17 and our current pick at 18.

I'm sure 2 first rounders would be of some attractiveness to the Crows if Tippett does want to join Collingwood.
