They can't take him in the PSD... unless we grant them permission, allowing them to do so. Normally a player has to agree to a trade, but that agreement would be implicit in Tippett's decision to nominate for the PSD (assuming things get that far - which they won't). Thus Tippett has effectively given his permission, so all that would be required is for Adelaide to give their permission.. and Tippett ends up at GWS.

I am assuming Tippett and his nominated club would put a package price on his nomination if a deal couldn't be reached. On the basis of how many clubs can afford $900-$1M on a player??

GWS could .....therefore Jack Martin for Tippett and 3rd round pick PLUS PSD permission

But I am sure that permission also would cover taking Tippett in the National Draft wouldn't it?

Exactly. He shot his own argument to pieces. Sydney have no power in this. They're offering a huge contract (reportedly) to entice Kurt, but seemingly have little they'd be willing to part with that would be of interest to us in terms of player trades or draft picks, and can't use the PSD or any other method to land him.

All you could hope to get from Swans of any interest would be Grundy add to KDP group or Rohan who add to speed etc which needed + their 1st rnd pick .

I reckon the Caddy deal will go first then Tippet.

So what I'm saying is I agree, its either going to be pick 2(doubtful) or the Caddy compensation deal plus something to sweeten the deal for the Crows.

In the end, I can't see the GC forcing the issue and trying to send Tippet through the Pre-season draft.

For the same reason we didn't have to use a first rounder to get Jacobs. He's uncontracted and can walk to GC in the PSD. AFC is in a weak position - we're not going to get full value unless Sydney is serious.

According to Mar Riccuto, Gold Coast are considering not trading with Adelaide next week, instead are encouraging Tippett to walk out on the crows to the preseason draft where the suns can take him without losing either Day, Gorringe or Tape.

Crows supporters, feel free to get angrier than you already are! If Tippett chooses to shaft the crows, you will receive nothing for losing him to the suns.

If Tippett does that and is that type of bloke probably a good thing not to have that type of guy at your club! As good as a player can be if they are genuine dicks then that can cause more harm than good. As a collingwood supporter I was happy at the thought of getting him, but if he is that type of bloke...I say have fun at GC or Sydney!

The Gold Coast should think about how they want to be regarded. They have a lot of players who in the future could be targeted by other clubs and hopefully they will not want to build a reputation of being poor to deal with. It could come back to haunt them at a later date.

My opinion is of a similar trade to Mitch Clark last year, its of similar monetary value, played the same position of keyforward/ruck (at brisbane), and similar age. That trade was for pick 12, I would imagine something around that mark packaged with Hayden Jolly who wants to head back to SA.

The other one might be Seb Tape? Or Gorringe, or Day from SA. I have doubts as to whether they will be let go. Jolly has come out asking to be traded to SA, so thought it fit.

I was more referring to a similar deal in picks as to what Mitch Clark was.
