I'm sick of attending draft day with a pick on the fringe of the top ten, pick 2 or nothing. I want to be on top for once! Preferably without dropping to the bottom first.

If Giles is stupid enough to leave his solid starting position at the GWS for nothing but his old patch at Central Districts, then I don't want him. He would be coming as nothing more than a backup ruckman for Jacobs, because he's not even a quarter of the forward Tippett is, and if we're relying on him down there than just **** next year off now and aim for 2014.

Outside mid, but not a particularly great one, and not a speedy one either. He's another bog standard 8-10 midfielder, why are we wasting time on him? Worth our second round pick at most, and I'm not certain he's interested in leaving the Bulldogs - I thought he was still contracted?

I wonder how you would've rated half of Sydneys premiership players before they went to sydney?

I would not be surprised if we use Tippett as means to get Toumpas or into the mini draft again to try and get Hogan. David Noble was very creative last year with the trading and managed to get Crouch and Jenkins.

I am sure Oglvie has done his research again and Noble is once again looking to get creative to get the most value from this in the long term.

Which ones? There's a difference between just picking up rejects, and picking up the right kind of rejects. The recycles in the Grand Final side weren't just bog standard pick ups, the majority of them were seriously talented players who had serious issues affecting their careers.

Kennedy was a talented midfieler who couldn't put it together at the Hawks, and didn't get enough of a look in.
Mattner was a talented player who was forced out of our side because he couldn't adapt to our new gameplan.
Morton has always had serious talent, but has suffered from the equally serious "I'm Mitch Morton the Superstar, and this is my Dad who is going to tell you how to run your club" Syndrome, which basically made the entire Morton family PNG at West Coast, and even caused him to be punted from Richmond of all places
Mumford wasn't a recycle, he was a dead set poach from Geelong who got caught wrong footed.
Shaw was a good player in a shitty environment, with a shitty attitude.

Howard isn't a seriously talented player with issues. He's an average, middle of the road player. No upsets, no intrigues, just plying his average trade in an average team. If Giles comes to us he's a moron. Pears is essentially finished, time has proven his body is incapable of withstanding the rigours of professional football - and with Shaw, Otten, Henderson and Lynch we're well covered for 192cm third defender types. Hooker is meh. Might be ok if we lose Luke Thompson, but otherwise not worth the effort.

Don't Geelong have the compo pick and Caddy could end up there. I am pretty sure that GCalso have some compo picks as they traded for them. Those could be part of the Tippett deal

Their going to say that at this stage to support their contracted players in the face of social media speculation.

BUT if those players go to the club & say they want to go to Adelaide GC will "spin" a different story that it was the players wish not the clubs to include in the trade deal

I like that trade.
I was told Toumpas isnt as good as crouch.
Toumpas atm is rated 5-8 in this draft so to use pick 2 probably wouldnt do it.

Young or old, Howard is still an average player. Which is fine, every team has those guys in the midfield, but it's not the sort of player you go chasing in trade week.

If Giles comes to Adelaide he'll only play AFL football if Jacobs is injured. If he's leaving GWS, why the **** is he coming to the Crows? He'll get games AND finals if he goes to one of the Melbourne based clubs.

Backup ruckman through the draft. You won't get anyone good in trade, because no good ruck with an ounce of intelligence is going to come here with Jacobs on the list unless he's a seriously good forward as well - which Giles is not. Thanks to the sub rule, it's a sad but simple fact.

As for a backup KPD - if we keep Thompson, draft. If we lose Thompson, Hooker would be an acceptable get if we get him cheaply, say our third round pick.

Having ploughed through all 50 pages of this thread so far, i am still not clear about K-hurt's options in the PSD. surely the AFL had not anticipated that a player would actually want to go to a bottom club?

It seems like a big loophole in the rules.
