Parker turns 20 in 3 weeks, Johncock turns 30 in 3 weeks, they are hardly comparable. Kennedy isn't really a good comparison to Tippett, fortunately he also hasn't walked out on the club demanding a trade to Adelaide.
Kennedy was just an example for a similar level of importance. And as far as I know Tipett hasn't demanded a trade to Sydney. What would you ask for Kennedy? Would you accept a mediocre fringe player and a meaningless pick?

I thought there was zero tolerance to clowns like this.

Cards?
Excuse me? I made the pretty obvious point that Johncock and Parker are 10 years apart in age, that Tippett as a top 10 key forward is not a good comparison with the #1 clearance player, and that Kennedy is not a good comparison anyway because he has not demanded a trade. I don't see how any of those observations demand that sort of response, but you are welcome to your opinion.

I wonder if this is a sign of things to come with Adelaide... I mean, with this new Free Trade process, Dangerfield, Walker... Vic teams will be licking their lips in a few years....

Here's a conspiracy theory for you. Tippett nominates Sydney knowing its highly unlikely the Crows and Syd can come to an agreement and doing so under the instructions of GC. He then gets put in the draft and GC pick him up at 2 without having to lose anything and Tippett gets to his 'real' desired club. He also doesn't look like a bad guy because Syd and Crows couldn't come to the agreement :D

Considering when they all come out of contract they 'wont' be free agents yes this makes sense

1. They need to start getting people to games on a regular basis which means winning games. Another season like the last two and suddenly they are dealing with serious financial pressures.

While I can agree with your other points, the Suns are actually quite successful financially. Little known fact I guess.

The stadium has been set up by the AFL in such a way that the Suns get plenty of the dosh for external functions held there. The concerts/functions we hold at Metricon over the off-season give us significant boosts to the finances.

For example, just one of the events over the last off-season (Foo Fighters), more than tripled the amount of coin we gained through inaugural memberships. Put us way way into the green.

Thats all i got, not sure.
Makes a little sense given he was close to signing with us pre-concussions..
Think it makes a lot of sense ....some players thrive on footy, recognition, constant attention and discussion

Others want their privacy ....yep i can understand the rationale

But why didn't he speak to the club ....they could have cut back media appearances and spoken to the media about the concerns .....that i don't get ?

We have had a number of weeks of civil, decent discussion with suns fans until you lot have charged in here beating your chests. Suggest you review your tone and choice of words or go back to your own board.

Hey I rate the kid highly and think he probably should have been playing in the finals ahead of Petrenko, but I just don't see him breaking into our side anytime soon. With the likes of Crouch, Lyons and Kerridge around competing with him, Smith likely to move into the midfield soon and already a wealth of inside mids. I think it would be best for him to be looking elsewhere, especially considering he's a NSW boy and if the club can get something of value from him we should be looking at it.
I just don't get this ....the kid is super

Lyons and Kerridge haven't any runs on the board to suggest they'll be better than Riley ....they may, but ATM Riley has runs on the board

Everyone is forgetting we had a dream run this year with injuries .......going to happen again ??

I thought you only made a profit last year because of this concert and there hasn't been another one of similar ilk this year.

The evidence using the players you mention suggest otherwise.....personally it will work both ways.....but at a quick guess Adelaide has probably benefited overall on the strength of gains and loses based on the go home factor.

We did certainly in 97/98 :D

Good to hear. It's in the best interests of the sport that you do well.:thumbsu:

Sydney supporters please go back to your own board... I seriously hope for our sake he chooses Brisbane or the Suns as their supporters have been first class

The final straw was the way he was treated by the media/public over his concussion issues.

I don't see why the Crows should be persecuted over individuals like Dr. Peter Larkins (from Victoria) providing his opinion to the media.

Why would we trade Rohan?
You're not getting Tippett for a packet of biscuits ....the days of win/lose trades are gone and Sydney are terrific to deal with

Adelaide needs (and has been stated)
1. KPD
2. Outside Midfielders
3. Ruckman/forward - guess who to replace

You don't have the type of KPD we're looking for ....that we don't already have covered (193/194cm players)

You don't have a spare ruckman do you?

That leaves outside midfielders ....you have Jetta who is a jet, and Parker who is also great is inside, which we have plenty off

Quality for quality ....it leaves Rohan

Any other ideas that would meet our needs?

We've had several months of good conversations with Bris and GC supporters, now Sydney come in and its all a rabble.

There are functions held at Metricon quite often, actually. Not necessarily big bands, but plenty of little things that all contribute.

Foo Fighters obviously drew in a big crowd, and from what I understand there are plans to have another group like this at some point through the upcoming off-season. No idea who it is though. But yeah, definitely in the green.

Or, like, possibly...we won't get Tippett. No point trading away our future.
You're not reading the tea leaves - WHY ARE SYDNEY CHASING TIPPETT SO HARD  .....if he is not central to your future

I have stated he is a replacement for Goodes when he retires in next year or 2

You only are trading away your future on a short term gamble ......5 year contract at $1M is a calculated move to sure up your future;)

Generally Ive found Syd supporters pretty good. Could be just a case of inflated craniums after Saturday's win. At least we can thank God we don't have to deal with Carlton :D
