OK Just speculation.....
Sydney trade White to Melbourne or Bulldogs for 1st round draft pick, then pass it on with either Parker or Johnson to us. We'll even throw in our 3rd round pick maybe.

So you reckon Melbourne and the Bullies are dimwits???

Cos they would have to be to come at that!!!

I've been reading with interest all week so here is my total take on the Tippett situation:

1. Tippett's decision to leave the AFC & his comment that he would make an unemotional decision demostrates the Kurt is only in it for Kurt ($$), loyalty to both club and team mates mean little to Kurt as this is purely a business transaction

2. Kurt's statement that his decision to leave Adelaide was based on lifestyle and other reasons is just a statement to mask the fact that he went to the highest bidder, looking back over the past 3 years Kurt has made plenty of false statements

3. From the point of his contract re-negotiations I have always stated that Kurt was not worthy of a repeat $700k pa contract, I struggle to remember more than 3 games in his last contract term where he was worthy of BOG honors

4. Furthermore to point 3, the fact that the AFC has avoided paying Kurt $800k per season over the next 5 years will be viewed in future years as a dodged bullet which provided greater opportunity to strengthen our side and retain key players like Jacobs, Walker, Sloane, Dangerfield, Talia & Crouch at the club

5. I do really respect the Swans team culture and player ethos however the recruitment of Kurt will challenge this culture as he is not a team and club person first and the fact that the Swans are bringing a player into a premiership club on a price tag that is usually reserved for the elite players of the comp has the potential to divide a playing group

6. In terms of trade I dont care where he ends up I'm just happy that he is no longer at the AFC and that we have dodged a bullet that may have impacted the club for years to come

7. What is realistic in a Syd trade, Syd 1st pick has to be a given, Parker I like, Rohan is a very good friend of Dangerfield and could be the next Stivie J and I know I'm going against the grain to many but I dont mind Grundy as a sweetner as he was close to AA in 2011

Always put the fear of god into them and ask for part of their future...presently hidden in the reserves by the Swans....

I posed that same question earlier:
Could Tom Mitchell be part of a potential deal? Didn't get a lot of time this year (probably due to the Swans having a healthy and cohesive midfield). Touted as a top 10 pick last year but picked at 21 due to F/S. Left footed ball magnet who would likely add to our midfield depth. Both sides might have to get creative for this deal to get done. Just spitballing.

Pyro he was injured most of the year mate, from all accounts they finished his year early to get his body right

I posed that same question earlier:

It's a good question....nothing lost in asking.. if it comes off there's some return in the investment spent on Tippett....

I know many swans supporters say out of bounds on many players but 1st round first year player potentially top 5 player. Not going to fly. Parker seems the unlucky one out of all player who may get traded. Definitely will need at least another party in this one.

Tom Mitchell/Gary Rohan/Luke Parker are good opening bids. Fair trade will be someone along these lines who has shown enough that he'll make it + steak knives.

First pick is too low, so swans have to come up with some quality player. Good luck to crows.

Thanks FAITH year after year you report information that is later proved to be factually correct.

On the Jarryd Roughead rumour circulating, can someone explain where this has come from? I feel I'm out of the loop on is one and just don't understand why Roughead would leave Victoria and Hawthorn who are arguably the best side in the competition.

Think it was a n off the cuff comment on here and its grown. No chance in hell its happening

Involving a third/fourth party won't really help that, no club is gonna give up anything that Adelaide would want to Sydney for cheap.

Ah see this is where other parties make it easier. Syd can't offer us something we need/want but another club may want someone like Parker who is a very promising inside mid...... something we have excess of that other clubs need desperately.

This. I like Parker but we do have a surplus in his position so logical that he may be offer to another club for their first for Parker and our first.

The problem with Parker is that we have more than enough of that type of player (a predominately inside mid). Grundy just isn't good enough to be the centerpiece of any deal. Rohan (despite what some of comrades are saying) also has question marks. There just doesn't seem to be a "perfect fit" obvious deal.

I went to school with Heath Grundy, I wasn't mates with him,l but me and his older sister were in same class for years. Hench I spoke to Heath about the Crows and how he should come back last year. His response was "Ive always hated the Crows, and I love it in Sydney" Maybe his tune has changed since the premiership, but doubt it.
We dont need a non creatitive or non running defender in heath Grundy, as we already have that it in Talia and Rutten, plus the bloke is not tall enough for the monsters or fast enough for the Franklins.

Hence why like heafy I'm advocating trading say a Parker to a third party then the proceeds to Adelaide. Eg get an upgrade for our first and send it to you. All spitballing.

Is it true that John Longmire said no premiership player would get traded?

If this is true, I can not see how a 3rd or 4th club will help gain us a deal worth wild.

Melbourne - may be. Depending on how viney bidding pans out.
Dogs - yes.

Since these two have 2 top 10 picks, Luke + 22 could be attractive for them. Good option.

I can't see how involving a third or fourth club helps. Sydney would still need to provide quality to that other team. I'm worried the fact we aren't prepared to send him to the PSD will see us bent over.

Sydney was one opposition team I didn't mind, no Moos that annoyed you. Well Kurt has changed that. I'd prefer Port win the flag than them and I feel dirty typing that.

In my opinion maybe players like Rohan/Reid/Parker etc dont want to come to adelaide but victorian teams may get involved.
There is some talk Reid to Collingwood but who knows.......

I would just like to remind these clueless Sydney supporters who keep saying "your dreaming", "no chance" etc.... that this was the same shite we all heard last year when us supporters were asking about Lewis Johnston in a trade for Tony Armstrong. I remember such things as he is contracted blah blah blah.
If Tippett is valued as high as 900k a year as reported, then your management rate him extremely highly. Face the facts that 4 teams offered him huge multi year contracts in the hope he would select them. We are not talking about a fringe player that they like and asked if he was interested in joining that club.
A players trade value is easily judged by the amount of teams chasing his signature with big $ contracts on offer.
The swans have set the bar with the biggest offer and therefore must equal that value in a trade to secure him. The threat of PSD is void as he can't slip to Sydney as they are too far back, so a trade to satify us is a must.
I would think 2 first round picks inside top 16 would be a starting point for discussion. As Sydney does not have these picks then players on there list inside the best 22 have to come into the equation. If not coming straight to us, then 3rd and 4th parties will need to get involved to satisfy our request.
I have no doubt that we will get good compensation as Sydney have in the past been fair traders and they will trade whether there fans on here like it or not.

That doesn't mean shit now they are trying to lure a big fish to the club on a multi million dollar deal.

Yeah that's fine. Anything constructive is good and welcome. I just don't know whether any of the players that you would be willing to trade will get you a pick inside the top 10 (e.g. Parker). Maybe something like White and Parker to the Dogs?
