I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but Sydney only need to part with their 2nd round draft pick for Tippett due to a clause in his contract.

THE Sydney Swans are set to pull off the steal of the century when they sign former Adelaide key forward Kurt Tippett for the bargain price of a second-round draft pick.

The Sunday Telegraph understands the Swans will only have to give up pick No. 42 in next month's national draft because of a clause in Tippett's contract with the Crows which allows him to go to the club of his choice for a second-round selection.

You're lucky you posted this so late, it's been thoroughly debunked so many ****ing times we're tired of seeing the same lazy journalists spew this shit up again, all because Caroline Wilson got taken for yet another ride, by yet another player manager she took at face value and refuses to back down on despite irrefutably being proven wrong.

It is not true. It has never been true.

It's been stated many many times that it was more of a 'gentlemens agreement' than a clause that was actually in his contract. And Adelaide have already stated we won't be honoring it due to the fact it was originally agreed to under the premise that he wanted to go back to Qld not to the highest bidder.

Also, it was never for a second round pick, Adelaide just agreed to not make any trade overly difficult and accept slight unders to get him where he wanted to go if necessary.

Oh god, the mythical clause again.

Where is the integrity of sports writers in this country? It's like they make some shit up, chuck in a couple of "it is understood that" and "sources close to X say" and bam it's a story. Then down the track competing journos don't bother to do their own investigation, they just roll with the original story and source it as though it's a fact.

The clause rumour came from freaking Caro and through constant media regurgitation it's now come true.

He wanted GC then Swans due to reasons really unknown to everyone but Tippett (apparently longmire's height in comparison to sando's was in an article, true story) and has since proceed like this:

Tippett: I want to go home, oh look a big pile of money, Sydney is home...
Bulch: flog flog flog floggity flog
Adelaide supporters: give us everything!!!
Swans supporter: you'll get a bag of chips and be happy with it
Adelaide supporter: no get stuffed
Swans supporter: no you get stuffed.

Rinse and repeat with smattering of valid discussion.
 
Some of the comments made by this Blucher guy are just bizarre... Kurt likes the idea of being coached by Longmire 'cos he's tall? WTF?! He'd be better served just keeping his mouth shut.

Hope KT gets to the swans & fades into obscurity, leaving them with his huge salary on their books. And pisses off some of their players enough to seek trades.

KT's manager. Almost all footy supports think he is a flog and everyone wants him to shut his mouth and let the clubs sort it from here.

Unless your club is hurting too from losing a player don't mention garbage for Skirt.

GCS give us pick 2 or Day
Brisbane give us pick 8 and Polec

You have to hurt giving us your player or draft picks as we are losing Skirt. Either that or **** off!

from the audio of his interviews he sounds like a small man enjoying his 15 seconds in the spotlight. but there is such a thing though as overplaying one's hand and the Crows are already pissed. he would be well advised to leave the business of trading to the professionals. from his comments, he is no better at working out trade scenarios than the flogs currently getting carded from this thread.

I have every confidence, based on past trading history with the Swans, that a good deal will be done that satisfies both parties.

This thought process has been rampant on both ends. Also misquoting, miss communication and things being put out of context. What has been floated in more realistic trades is third and/or fourth parties being used to gain either picks or players to fill a need eg Parker to Melbourne for pick 12 and Rohan to cats for pick 15, on traded to Adelaide for tippett etc etc.

Night crowd is a bit more mellow. me gusta

More than likely. If our trade record is anything to go by it seems relatively fair.

Apologies for said flogs, there seem to be some in every fan base much like the deranged relative.

We know. Doesn't his girlfriend live here or something? I just don't see us being interested. Sando has already said we aren't likely to trade for a Tippett replacement, as we've already got two who can potentially fill his role waiting in the wings. If White is here for anything other than spending time with his girlfriend, there is also the possibility of Port being interested.
