When asked how confident he was whether Tippett/Sydney deal would go though, Adrian Barrett said he was 91% confident. The 9% safety margin was just because occasionally deals go wrong.

He said that he expected both clubs to say at 3 pm Eastern time - the time when all teams are finished meeting for the day - that good progress had been made on the trade.

The age has just posted article quoting ireland .....will not trade a premiership player and wont commit to using pick 22.

Good start ....lol

Guess it's lucky Rohan wasn't a premiership player.

Seriously though, if that's their attitude, I say we tell them to **** off, start talking with Brisbane and GC, and tell Kurt he can go there or he can go to the Pre-Season Draft and hope he makes it past GWS (and every other club including us) before he gets to Sydney.

I agree Stiffy, Roughead for Tippett would be a perfect replacement. Roughie can do everything Tippett can - play as a key forward & relieve in the ruck ... & also has the added benefit of being able to play as a key defender if need be (which solves another problem should we have an injury like we did with Talia).
Didn't Brendon Sanderson say that we would not be looking for a 'like for like' replacement when trading for Tippet?

The more info that comes out from the Swans, it really does sound like Blucher pretty much sold Tippett to them saying it'll be cheap.

More fool them.

If this deal falls through as a result, something tells me he won't be working at Velocity Sports for much longer. Was reading on the Brisbane board that apparently internally, they're pretty unimpressed with how Blucher has handled this whole thing.

I think by 3pm today we'll find the swans threw caution to the wind and offered White + 22 to get the deal done fast.

Agree. This is poised to get very interesting late in trade year.

It'll be either a three way trade or he won't be at Sydney next season. None of the proposed trades bar Roughead will go close to getting it done, no matter how spineless the Trigg regime is.

I just sincerely hope we told them what orifice to shove it in.

Also, did anybody just hear the caller on Trade Radio? "I'm just wondering what the chances of me getting Craig Hutchinson in bed are?". Ahhh the perils of accepting live callers.

The Crows should go buy some of this.

I lol'd. Scared the kids

The more I see the Tippett trade play out, the more I understand why Port let Stevens go to the PSD (and the less I want to make fun of them for it).

I can understand when supporters on an internet forum get a little cocky. 99% of us are far removed from anything to do with the club, and really have no idea what is really happening. But when the CEO of a club starts coming out with junk comments like "all our premiership players are untouchable, and pick 22 might not be on the table either" in regards to a trade, and options like "Jesse White and the very last pick of the 2nd round" (although that's from journos, not the club) ... I want to see him go to the PSD, see Sydney's CEO get screwed over, Blucher get screwed over, and keep our dignity and the AFCs bumhole intact.

Yeah seriously. Notwithstanding the prevailing perception, Adelaide will not get reamed on this one. Grey area trades for an aging post-knee Hudson or a spotty not particularly intelligent Mattner are in no way comparable to an out and out prized commodity in the prime of his career like Tippett. Adelaide is a proud club and will piss him off to the PSD before handing the reigning premier the last piece to its puzzle for **** all.

If we throw him away for unders the trolls should have free license to lambaste the club in any which way they feel is needed for the next six months.

How long until we get a threat from Blucher to sue the Crows for breach of contract if we don't honour the 'gentlemen's agreement'?? I could seriously see the dickhead pulling a stunt like that...

There is no legal avenue to sue for a Gentleman's Agreement. In law it is considered to be a "trusting" agreement where both parties know that it is not enforceable by the courts. I've said this three times, there is no legal avenue for Blutcher and Tippett to enforce the agreement. Regardless, I don't think they have upheld their side of it which is why Trigg said it's broken because he went to Sydney.

I couldn't find a dictionary meaning but I hope this suffices:

A gentlemen's agreement is an informal agreement between two or more parties. It is typically oral, though may be written, or simply understood as part of an unspoken agreement by convention or through mutually beneficial etiquette. The essence of a gentlemen's agreement is that it relies upon the honor of the parties for its fulfillment, rather than being in any way enforceable. It is, therefore, distinct from a legal agreement or contract, which can be enforced if necessary.

Well...Mitchell isn't a premiership player :p

Won't happen, Bolton will retire next year and Mitchell will just slot straight in.
