I think the issue is that the drums are starting to beat louder.

From where?
All I see is the same information from day 1 recycled by the same jurnos but on a different day

10 days ago it started with pick 22 + White, 10 days later it is still pick 22 + White, with this in mind do we believe that there has been no progress in this time???????

At the end of the day, the deals over the past 2 and a bit seasons will up as...

The Bock compo pick was wasted on Tambling and unless we have a massive attack of injuries, he won't play another game and with all due respect to Jessie White, he won't play a major role with us as he will be behind Jenkins, SMACK and Lewis Johnson.

So, looking at it, is Bock, Davis, Gunston and Tippett a good return for pick 22, Crouch and Jenkins?

I'll let you answer that.

I thought our draw this year was quite nice.

It's cyclical and contrived; software driven, based upon blockbuster games. The 'soft draw' garbage is over-rated, we played crap teams 2 times more than everyone else.

Our draw for next year looks shit - the times we get given are rubbish.

I guess that is the problem, I have no idea

It was repoerted on AFL.com.au (via Twitter) as well so I guess the more sources of information that run with it, people get the idea that it is true - regardless of if the information is factual.

That is the problem with media not being required to confirm accuracy.

"Something of value" isn't good enough though - by a long way. Kurt was our highest paid. He will be Sydneys highest paid. He is the 2nd best contested mark in the competition and probably the best forward/2nd ruck man going around. I dont want something pissy here which pick 23 is. A top 10 draft pick is the minimum. GWS have said they would offer a hig pick for him. Brad Ottens nominated Cats a few years ago and the Tiges got 2 x top 14 odd draft picks from memory.

Sydney, a major competitor of ours for next years flag, is bending us over and we need to get ruthless and either do a Veale deal or let him go into the PSD for the long term benefit of our club
Ok...

Tell me why GWS and Adelaide havent then simply struck a deal for that high draft pick?

It's growing legs, and it's name is Jesse White...

KURT Tippett's drawn-out move to Sydney could be formalised as early as today, with Swans big man Jesse White expected to be the linchpin in the deal.
The Advertiser can reveal White, a key forward/ruckman, is travelling to Adelaide today for a medical and a meeting with Crows coach Brenton Sanderson, who returns home today after holidaying in the US.
Swans boss Andrew Ireland said the negotiations to bring Tippett to the Harbour City were progressing well.
"We think it's getting closer and hope there is some news by the end of the week," Ireland said.
"David Noble (Crows list manager) and Kinnear Beatson (Swans list manager) have been working through the issues and there are some things that need to be ticked off.
"Brenton Sanderson arrives back in Adelaide tomorrow and that will allow some of the things that need to be finalised to be done."

If it's any consolation, that was written by Jon Ralph, an incompetent "journalist" notorious for doing absolutely no research of his own outside of reading rumours on BigFooty.

No we don't want 22 and White...No we don't want 22 and White....NO, we don't want 22 and White...NO! We don't...oh all right then, not like we have any choice...

This has probably been asked and answered before - but if we let him go into the PS Draft, and he nominates his salary, is it the case that he will probably end up at Sydney anyway?
Yes but the up side is you don't then have Jesse White on your list

ATM, your management team are not only giving them Tippett but are taking a dud they don't need and freeing up cap space for them as well. Oh and as an added bonus you reduce you available cash to get a quality replacement.

Can someone please give me the CEO's number I have a bridge going cheap, on sale FOR ONE DAY ONLY

Having a big laugh @ every comment eluding to "other clubs will just fleece us for our star players in the future because we couldnt get a fair trade for Tippett".

News flash. In these circumstances, no club would get a fair deal for Tippett. And last time I checked, Tippett wanted to leave. The notion that other clubs will just pillage our other star players in the future might be difficult if those players dont want to leave.

You and I both know that collingwood would have engineered a different result. We also both know Eddie woukd have been present and raising hell with the player, his management, Sydney and the AFL. There would have been lawyers, injunctions......all manner of thunder and lightening.

How many times has this happened to collingwood?

I'm going to keep the pitchfork in check until something more solid comes of this. A lot of unofficial word at the moment, and given the club has previously stated their desire for a big, but it wouldn't come from the Tippett tar==rade, I'm somewhat synical.

Taking on another mature player would reduce our draft picks in the ND to 2....I'm not sure we'd sacrifice that slexibility to Jesse White.

Yeh significant progress, we have folded like the pussy's we are and have brought White in for a medical. Brilliant work from our boys.

"For a player of Tippett's calibre and value, we'd consider trading everything except #1."

Could you please link the source for that qoute the only one I could find was:

"Other than the No.1 pick, which we certainly want to hold, the other picks are up for trade if something worthwhile came across the table," Silvagni said

Last time I checked, it was still trade week...

The AFL site is just reporting what the herald sun and the age are saying, which they got from twitter. So, as I have done with most of this 'news' that has come out from the past week and a bit, I will wait and see if it is actually true or just journos putting 2 and 47 together and getting C and Z.

The last one that springs to mind is Nick Stevens. Has there been any others?
Not when it comes to high profile players that have put a price on their head. The weight of evidence despite Vaders opinion suggests Sydney would have picked him up in the PSD.

The ramifications for a club to draft a bloke against his will and make him one of their highest paid players would be far reaching and I really cant see why a club would do it. Would you want your club to do it?

He had no choice. Change his mind and get some perspective or sit out.

I do not see Tippett sitting out of football and missing out on 650k for a year.

Did you read todays article?

I'll repeat myself, it's all well and good to demand Sydney give us a better deal by trading one of their better players to say GWS but if the player doesn't want to leave then he doesn't. Sydney can't force anyone of value out the door if they don't want to go and why if you were a Sydney top 22 would you want to go?

If we force KT to the PSD then it is possible that Sydney still get him as other clubs with higher picks are unlikely to draft a highly priced four year contract player that doesn't want to play for them AND one that has a history of potentially career ending concussions. Again, ask yourself why is KT leaving us? He was a reluctant signer of a new contract in 2009 after all.

So we make a stand and KT ends up at Sydney anyway and they not us use pick 23 at this years National Draft. It's a risk and cost the AFC may not want to take. That's why we may find ourselves spewing over this deal when it gets announced in the next few days.

So no point calling for Sydney to up their offer, they can't, and you are being simple minded if you think they can. The AFC accept that reality and now have to decide on taking the offer or gambling on the PSD.

Agreed, I am yet to see any shred of proof that the club is considering White. All we have is Cornes and Rucci telling us this is so, and considering we all know Cornes hasn't done a shred of his own research in 15 years, he probably only got his info from Rucci.

What we do know is that White has a GF from Adelaide, giving him a good, legitimate reason to be here that doesn't involve the Crows, plus Faith who is usually on the money has told us we're definitely not interested.

Rucci is extremely good at dreaming up stories and then passing them off as the truth. 5 or so days ago he was convinced we were going to get Grundy, go back and have a quick read of his commentary on that, it was a pure work of fiction based solely on the fact that Grundy is from Adelaide and the Crows might be keen on a KPD.

The media have NFI what's going on, just look at how many players, over the past week and a half have been "locks" to go somewhere, only to re-sign or go somewhere completely different.
