So Hitler = Vossy? This thread just keeps on giving.

Depends on whether Vossy gets back his people - Queenslanders of which White is one. In much the same way the Sudatenland Volk were used to dismantle Czechoslovakia...

Let me share with you a little story.

It was many moons ago, in 1999, in fact.

A young forward called Leigh Colbert, who was playing with Geelong at the time, wanted to be traded to North Melbourne, despite the fact that we kept him on our list for a year, without any return, because he had an ACL.

North Melbourne originally offered Brady Rawlings. Now, Rawlings became a good player later on, but, at the time, he was a reserve-playing spud. Geelong requested a premiership player from North's 1999 team.

North obviously went through their list, and decided who from their premiership side can they afford to lose, and chose a guy who got no possessions in the game, warmed the bench, and only got junk-time. He was only playing because their regular CHF, Jason McCartney, decided to show a Brisbane player his elbow during the PF the previous week.

The player they offered us - a guy called Cameron Mooney.

Also, out of the deal, Geelong also gained three draft picks. One of these picks resulted in us drafting a player called Corey Enright.

So, they got Leigh Colbert, and he played in 0 premierships. We got Mooney, who played in two for us, and Enright, who has played in three and counting....

My point to the story is to keep pushing to get a premiership player from them. Even if they try to dud you, you may end up with gold.

You say that pick 23 was too low. The pick that North gave us, and we ended up with Enright, was in the 30's, so you never know.

North tried to screw us, and we won the deal. Push hard enough, and you may end up with two quality future stars, who are playing for you long after Tippett has retired.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Further to this point, let's say Sydney go through their premiership player list, and try to give you someone like Luke Parker.

Now, Parker was a sub, and got junk time (much like Mooney). Sydney might think they have screwed you with pick 23 and Parker.

However, I am pretty confident that your team will be a force within the next two-three years, and wouldn't be surprised if you won a flag or two in the next five, even without Tippett (we won one without Ablett, so you never know). I think Sanderson can coach your list to glory.

Now, if that happens, Luke Parker might be a regular player, and become a premiership player for you (much like Mooney did). Also, your pick 23 could get you a great kid in the draft, who also is part of a premiership or two (much like Enright was for us).

Meanwhile, who is to say that Sydney will win another flag? They have an aging list, and Tippett might disrupt the harmony the Swans had last year, and throw out their structure.

So, things may look dark now, but you may end up with two future premiership heroes, and, conversly Tippett may miss out, and if he stayed, he may have been part of something special. You never know!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

It was jumping at shadows (Now a gun CHB for Sydney)
It was "Is that fake or real Rucci" (Doesn't really matter, neither are credible)
It was Kurt Tippett is a muppet
It was "Lol 23+ White or GTFO"
It was "LOL PSD SYDNEY FLOGS"
rinse and repeat
It was "Do you keep your sauce cold or at room temperature"
It was "Which condiment compliments a meal better
It was reaction gifs galore
It was Trevanian is ON the sauce...or was it mayonaise?
It was "Hitler was a good guy"
It was Andrew Ireland is a dickhead
It was Blucher is a ********
It was "PLEASE, DEAR GOD, BRISBANE COME AND SAVE US"
It was where we made friends with GC
It was where we lost all respect for Sydney
And
It was where we all realised what sad, sad lives we all lead

But

It's still going on
It's still not over
It's still going to consume our lives until at least Friday

It is the Tippett's Gone thread, and our lives will never be the same after this.

Admit it, you're all gonna miss this thread when it's over.

JESSE White's mysterious hold-up in moving from Sydney to Adelaide on Friday was the result of Crows chief executive Steven Trigg seeking a new angle on the deal.

White, 25, on Friday had agreed to a two-year deal with the Crows as part of the long-running Kurt Tippett trade to Sydney that would have given Adelaide the Swans' No. 23 draft pick and the out-of-favour Swans forward.

But as Adelaide list manager David Noble was preparing to lodge the trade papers at AFL House on Friday, Trigg was returning to Australia from Europe - and finding reason to review the deal.

"It needed chief executive to chief executive talks to resolve it,'' said Trigg. "And that is (still) happening.''

Asked if the White deal was still on the table, Trigg said: "We have not killed it.''
Adelaidenow understands Adelaide's wish to sweeten the deal involves salary issues.

White is on contract to the Swans next year. Adelaide may be asking the Swans to pay White for next season and the Crows then take over White's salary in 2015.

Adelaide and Sydney have until the Friday deadline for trades to resolve the issue.

But Adelaide may not be alone in chasing White, who would strengthen the Crows' forward options and ease the threat of key forward Taylor Walker being double-teamed by defences next season when he will Adelaide's No. 1 forward.

The Crows understand Brisbane is interested in White. The Lions today are interviewing Melbourne ruckman-forward Stefan Martin for the same role of supporting captain Jonathan Brown in the Brisbane attack
.

Stab - this article here references Triggy killing the deal because it required CEO to CEO talks. So yes, it does appear that the list manager and associated parties were looking to pull the trigger on Tips for JW (and presumably 23 but that's not clear here).

So I think everyone who is concerned about the trade and expressing their concerns for weeks it was heading that way... had every right to be concerned and express their disgust IMO.

If Sydney were offering Parker, I'd say a deal would have been done already. Most around here would want us to accept Parker + 23, but all reports would suggest that Sydney haven't even been offering close to this.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You say that, if Tippett had nominated GC or Brisbane, you would have honored that, and not asked as much as you are from Sydney.

But what if GC and Brisbane were only prepared to offer you a fifth-round draft pick? What if what they offered was not satisfactory?

More over, continuing the hypothetical, say Brisbane and GC offered fourth or fifth round picks, and Sydney offered a first round pick.

Would you tell Sydney that you had an agreement with Tippett to "send him home", and deal with only GC or Brisbane, even if they are offering rubbish deals?

What would you want the club to do, if this was the case?

No I did not, and with all due respect I do not appreciate having words put into my mouth.

This thread makes you feel like a meth addict. You feel guilty as you're coming down but then you swear you're going back for just 'one more hit'.

I'm awaiting someone posting confessing their family forced a 'Tippett Thread' Intervention on them.

I agree with you bigfella, if we on this forum hadn't expressed our disgust then this disgraceful deal may well be wrapped up by now.

It is either trade the Queenslander by Friday's deadline with "compensation" from the Swans - or lose Tippett for nothing in the draft pool.

From such a weak bargaining positioning, Adelaide's best-case deal is to hit the Swans on the three areas of AFL list management. They are:

SCORE a draft pick - preferably a first-rounder in a draft pool that is considered to run deep. Taking Sydney's No. 23 hurts the Swans and helps Adelaide develop its player list.

GRAB a player - and without Tippett the corridor-running, long-kicking Crows cannot allow defences to double-team Adelaide's new No. 1 forward, Taylor Walker. Out-of-favour Swans forward Jesse White is worth pursuing for a multi-dimensional Adelaide attack.

SQUEEZE the salary cap - and make it difficult for Sydney to strengthen its list beyond adding Tippett.

Adelaide had the first two boxes ticked on Friday afternoon when White was said to have agreed to a two-year deal with the Crows and list manager David Noble was preparing the paper work at AFL House.

I ain't satisfied, I AM PISSED OFF!

I actually had a day off social media today, just to see if I could do it. Got to 6.30pm and rewarded myself with half an hour on BF.

NEK MINNIT

So let me get this right;
The reigning premiers scoop a CHF and highest paid player from another club. They offer him mega money to the point that he resists the lure home.
They 'offer' the Crows a feeble trade, with pick 23 and not-going-to-ever-play-for-them-again Jesse White.
Then they have the GALL to expect the Crows to pay White so they can fit Tippet in to their salary cap.
Is that right? Seriously if we were to take the trade as suggested, Sydney should be kissing our backsides, thanking us daily and offering to pay whatever it takes to get the deal through.
Lets face it, if White wasn't contracted Sydney would probably delist him. With Tippett and Reid they simply have no place for White. He is well and truly surplus to their requirements.
White is less thank steak knives, he is last weeks leftovers.

I sincerely hope Trigg calls Ireland and tells him to Fet Gucked. I have lost all respect for Tippett and Sydney.

Luckily my better half gave me carblanche for three weeks.

Although kind of wish she ripped the phone out of my hand.

So tired.

So very very tired.

Pretty sure hell is gonna be this thread but never ending.

Wait...

Did I die?
