Why do you laugh at the suggestion of calling him $kirt to his face if it isn't about being intimidated?

By your logic - anyone who has ever called anyone a name (however apt) is not a socially respectable or responsible human being.

You must live a very sheltered existence if these are your rules.

For example ... I have a friend that works full-time with the homeless - and she would happily call you all sorts of names if you crossed her in any way - no matter how remote the connection.

And she's a Richmond supporter so she's already angry before she begins

There is no relationship between calling Kurt Tippett $skirt because you're disappointed in his decision and calling someone a few choice names because they crossed you. This isn't even close to being similar.

Normally I think the AFL would ignore it, but since he's already potentially in trouble for draft tampering he's either A. a complete idiot, B. got balls of steel and doesn't care if he gets deregistered or C. he's heard he's off the hook (or Blutcher is going to take the fall for everything), and has nothing to worry about.

I think you're about the retirement thing, just not in the draft. As I remember it, it was an ultimatum he gave Fremantle along the lines of; "trade me to Collingwood or I'll retire".

People are less concerned about losing Tippett and more concerned about HOW and why he went. If you can't see that, then there's no hope for you. Everyone almost to a tee is saying if he was homesick sobeit. In fact, weren't people pleased with his prelim efforts knowing that it was likely his last game for us? I think comments at the time were akin to "at least he is leaving on a high". If he'd gone to Gold Coast like everyone expected, because he was (apparently) clearly homesick, then it would have been sadly accepted and there would be none of the vitriol pointed in his direction that you see now. But that is not what happened. In doing what he has done, he has virtually spat in the club's face, his (Friends for Life, Luv Kurt) team mates faces and by association, Adelaide supporters faces. To top it off, we now find out he's held the Club to ransom all this time. It turns out, this bloke we all felt admiration for - concern even, when he was going through the concussion issues - is nothing but a shit greedy bloke, only interested in himself. He (and his scum bag manager) has brought all this on himself.

I can see why people are sore at losing him - but the most angst by far, is not because he's going, it's because of the destruction he's left behind.

There's a fair bit of rumour mongering and shoddy reporting going on out there. From memory you have legitimate contacts at the club. Seeing as you posted the above, I'm wondering whether you could elaborate as to by what means did kurt manage to hold the club to ransom. And when you say "all this time", what period would you be referring to.

Hey Alex, we disagreed on knights. But I'm with you on this. The reality is that, as supporters, we should be much more angry with our management than we are kurt. Having said that, I'd like to think that the people using childish names (which I have), understand that kurt is just another footballer that has played for our club. If our senior management hadn't put such a ridiculous deal in place (in writing), we would have gotten a fair trade for him. But, ce la vie.

Can I just say that I don't expect a response from Jenny. Or, for that matter Peter j or fairfooty. Responding to that question opens up the reality that kurt was able to hold the club to ransom because he had a side deal that was agreed upon by the CEO. This is a position that they protect. I don't know why, but they do.

If I am incorrect, I look forward to a direct response from any of those 3. My expectation is that if they respond, it won't be to refute anything I've said, but rather to deflect the argument in another direction.

Jenny, fairfooty and the other guy, I look forward to tour response.
