In my years in the press room at Defence/Parliament House in the late 70s early 80s, the world was dominated by male journalists. There were a few females that were well respected - and none of them were the put out kind of gals. They were hard workers (always had to work twice as hard to get the same recognition as the men) and no-nonsense types (I remember Michelle Grattan well).

Thank you for this view...it is refreshingly accurate and not degrading

If that’s the case then it’s pretty amateurish of the AFL to still have his name on it’s official website.

I can never find anything on the AFL website, can you please provide a link.

This is from Wiki, so don't know how accurate it is.

NameCurrent RoleAppointed
Mike Fitzpatrick Chairman 2007
Chief Executive Officer 2003
Bill Kelty, AO Commissioner 1998
Chris Langford Commissioner 1999
Sam Mostyn Commissioner 2005
Justice Linda Dessau, AO Commissioner 2007

Richard Goyder Commissioner 2011
Paul Bassat Commissioner 2011

My bad,
I had to do an internal search on the website and the very first article that came up listed the commissioners. He is on that list.
However it is dated 2007 & it’s not until you have so do a bit of digging further you find replacements for the retiring commissioners.
Bit amateurish on my part.

Not at all mate.

I feel it simply proves how amateurish the AFL is.

For a use of a better term, there 'governing body' is very hard to find on there own website. This group of people represent the running of the game. Look at how much research you needed to do and the first article you find is 5 years old.

I would have thought a Google search of "AFL commission members" would have brought it straight up on AFL.com.

Why did it all turn out like this for us? We had so much promise. We were personable, we were bright. Oh, maybe not academically speaking, but ... we were perceptive. We always know when someone's uncomfortable at a party.

Our club is the opposite of everything we want it to be.

"My name is George. I'm unemployed and I live with my parents."

Imagine the sh 1 t that would hit the fan if no club drafts him !

GWS through Sheedy might just be posturing. Sydney might be looking at this thinking farking hell we dont want this guy and all he brings !

Some key points...
  • Hired to be the legal representative of Kurt Tippett
  • Will take it step by step and see what happens Monday to see if he goes into the draft.
  • Before making a decision to see if a legal avenues need to be taken they will wait and see what happens with the draft.
  • That will depend on where he ends up via the draft if they take legal action.
  • Andrew Gaze and his conversation about Kurt Tippett being a 22 year old
  • Gaze suggests Tippet is the person responsible
  • Galbally says no because he's grown up in an AFL environment that's like a fish bowl and out of reality
  • I don't feel he was speaking about the Adelaide Crows but the AFL environment in general towards the fishbowl comment.
  • Gaze "a good defense lawyer standing up for his client"
  • I get the impression, David Galbally isn't or wasn't impressed with Blucher for not instructing his client towards the rights and wrongs of the deal. Nothing about the Crows.
  • So SpeciousArgument maybe onto something that Blucher may be gone if this gets to court. This will allow Kurt Tippett to place his nativity and has sacked his agent to prove this.
  • Can not comment on the Swans dealing, if that is his ideal home
  • talking about deregistration, Galbally doesn't believe his is guilty and anyone who suggest he will be deregistration would just be assuming he is guilty.
  • A whole range of ways the AFL can punish him without deregistratering him.
  • Will wait until the AFL commission meeting Monday before deciding what the next step will be.
  • It sounds as if - they don't expect him to be de-registered but if he is, they are willing to take court action as the very last cause of action.

Excellent summary. Many thanks. :thumbsu:

I like the new word you coined there too, NE. Deregistratering.

Sounds like de-registering with a dash of castration thrown in for good measure - something which we all wish on Tippett, I'm sure. :)

Well if he doesn't want to be de-registered, how would he like to be castrated?

sooooo, how is playing hard ball working out for ya?

Considering the AFL refused to sign off on your club's limp-wristed offer even with sweeteners added in, I'd say roughly as well as if we'd rolled over and taken it.

After listening to Galbaly discuss Tippett on radio with AG, mate I would not want him representing me. He was comical and his arguement was a farce.

I love how much the whole league (bar Sydney supporters) have turned on Tippett. Even with the rumours and what not saying players don't expect Tippett to ever play in SA again, no matter where he plays he will be copping it non-stop from opposition supporters. If he hated the 'fish-bowl' environment like he said he must love all the attention coming on him now.

it's OK cos his Dad doesn't let him watch TV and he is too young for Facebook

I 'd still take our current circumstances over accepting pick 23 and Jesse White. If it gets rid of Trigg and stops the club rolling over and accepting shit trade offers for players then it's worth it.

Anyway hows that pick 23 and Jesse White offer working out for you ?

Could not give a continental if he does or if he does not but it would seem the clear message on this board reading between the lines is you are happy for Tippett to go anywhere but Sydney and the whole whoa is me 820 page thread is about as long as Sydney dont get him. Judging by your idiotic response above, sadly i think you and most of your cohorts are going to be suicidal when Tippett lands at the Swans judging by the desperation in the majority of posts in this thread.
