It's just all the stuff from this thread people have been asking. In hindsight I asked too many questions. Should have kept it to 2-3 key ones.
I don't think so, they are all fair an reasonable questions and ones that we should be able to ask our board.

if you don't get an answer it suggest they are simply questions the AFC don't want to as - and if you don't, why not send it to a few Journos, they like people doing their work for them and they are good questions.

GWS have said they wont draft him as per AFL website.

Freo the last realistic team to pick him up now but looks like Sydney will get their man.

What about Carlton? I undersand they're still a chance.
Where did you hear that? They've got the Judd VISY deal now to be included in their cap and weren't in a position to trade because of it. Malthouse has also said hes not worth the money

Is anybody here concerned about the VFL re-visiting their findings should contradictory statements start coming out from the AFC?
I'd like to know the full story as much as those of you emailing/calling Chapman but perhaps we are better off letting it go and just moving on.
Who knows what went on behind closed doors in the negotiations with the Commission. I find it a bit strange that even with highly qualified representation we settled for a harsh penalty given that our 'cheating' resulted in no net gain and there was no salary cap breach. There must be more to the story but I suspect that it would be to the Club's detriment to have every fact made public.

I think that if more info comes out, we cop heavier penalties but lose Trigg and the Board as a result then that will actually be a better result for the club.

We'll be clean. Presently we 'cut a deal' and we're tainted.

I can understand that point of view Carl but I dont share it.
At the moment we arent sure of the extent of the taint but I dont believe any of the AFC employees acted maliciously or with the intent of deliberately rorting the system.
The penalties we received dont impact on our current Premiership window but should the VFL increase those penalties to include PSD or Rookie draft restrictions or even exclusion from free agent signings then we can effectively rule out any improvements to the team aside from current player progression. I'd hate to look back in 10 years and find that we still only have two premierships and that the special talents we have in Danger, Tex, Rory etc were wasted because we brought further penalties upon ourselves unneccesarily.

You guys crack me up. I hadn't checked this thread for a week and you're still banging on about how naughty Adelaide were. Just for your information, out in the real world 99% of people support how Adelaide did things and believe the whole thing was just a media beat up. I mean come on, all they did was put a minimum value on any trade if they didn't manage to convince a player to stay 3 years later and back their ability to secure some third party deals. I for one am glad that our management are proactive in securing our playing list and I am sure that this agressive approach is why we have Sloane and Danger signed up again.

BTW Trigg was infinately more disappointing in how he treated Vince and Rendell than during this negotiation and I would be happy to see him accountable for that, but the Tippett thing is just a storm in a teacup.

I don't think the lied to the commission Carl. Thats why we plead guilty and were penalised. I just don't think they can tell the rest of us what they told the commission.
I think quite a few things could not be proved one way or the other and both sides were told to settle or both be found as guilty as each other and receive harsher penalties.. Hence Chapman saying he was doing what was best for the club.. And now saying he would sack Trigg too if he didn't have all the facts..

Bang your head against a wall all you like and be confident saying these are the facts, we didn't do X,Y,Z.. Won't get you far when it can't be proved and the other party is saying the opposite..

You can tell they want to spill their story but something's holding them back ;)
And that's not saying they are totally innocent.. Even Demetriou said they are guilty more of stupidity and not to even remotely compare this to Carlton..

Here is a Tippo Tip

Aggressive narcissism

This is Factor 1 in the Hare Psychopathy Checklist, which includes the following traits:

Bit ridiculous, we can't make a diagnosis because we don't really know him...I just completely dislike him as a person from what we've seen.

What about Trig having a clear conscious? I think that's a bit troubling. Officially he made a mistake which cost us - unofficially I think he's the fall guy, and lots people knew about the deal. (obvious?)

Yes, we were banned from the first two rounds of two drafts, fined $300,000, our CEO suspended for a year (6 months suspended sentence) and fined $50,000, our Football Operations manager suspended for 6 months (4 months suspended sentence), our former Football Operations Manager suspended for a year, and the player involved suspended for a 22 rounds of the H/A season (11 rounds suspended sentence) due to a media beat up.

Carl,

He couldn't answer those questions to Vlad & the AFL either, so he's not going to be able to suddenly explain it you

Or want.

I think this comes under Chapman's "not genuine" questions clause ;)

So am I right I assuming that most of you have also lost faith in our Board, and therefore want them removed also? Because as I see it, it's almost a package deal now. If any of you feel they have made the decision to retain Trigg for any reason other than the good of the club, they have clearly been negligent in their duties, just like Trigg.

Is that it? Are most of you proposing that we move forward with a completely new CEO and Board?

Yep, that's what should happen, but of course it won't.
