Is your dosage wearing off? 5 minutes ago the trade was easy, and we should have just taken the 2nd round pick

Now.. 5 mins later; the trade should have gone smoothly because there shouldn't have been an agreement?

If there is no agreement its not a second round pick

You need to pick one, just one view

Excuse me? Where the **** did I say we accept a second round pick? No where, stop being a muppet

If we don't have an agreement in place, a trade would have been done with ease. Smooth transition.

But he never, ever, ever said that.

He said he was a Gold Coast boy at heart but never said he would play in Queensland.

He wanted to play for the club of his choice and the club agreed to that by trading him fir a second round pick to the club of his choice. The assumption was, it would be one if the Queensland teams.

Alex, I'm telling you what he told the players and why some players took pay cuts for him, all due respect but you don't know what he said or what he didn't say, all you know is what you have read

Insert out of contract player then.
To be honest I'm confused by what you are trying to say in the quote.

A 2nd rounder was never going to cut it with the AFL, nor was it what the dodgey contract dictated either.

The 2nd rounder was the agreed valued between Tippett and the club. Not something we should accept.

No it wasn't. It was the minimum value set by the club - hence why they had a higher offer on the table from Sydney & even that was seen as too low by the AFL.

wasn't it the "minimum"? rather than the set figure?

We'll never really know the true story I guess, give there are such disputed positions.

everything I've ever head from people in the AFC is that Tippet was a "different type of person"
Correct - kept to himself a lot. Not that there is a problem with that.

That's fine.

Agree to disagree with what we know and don't know.

I posted Tex was in contact with him 3 weeks before he announced it in the port v swans game. I posted Danger and a few others caught up with him in Sydney for dinner a month or 2 before he said it on the footy show.

Believe me or not - it's only your word against mine. So congrats.

Don't think I've ever read the word minimum use in context to that agreement.

I wonder why?

I wonder what Tippett was hiding as Trigg abd co are always honest with the supporter base.

I'm not sure Tippett has the intelligence, more what his manager was doing.

All Tippett did was e ****head about where home was, the rest is his managers and Triggs doing.

Why wouldn't the crows expose that then?

Tippett is at a new club, I'm sure he wouldn't care or have the pull to impose a confidentiality clause.

they did.

he used the excuse of having marital issues at the time and doesn't remember anything. He used the Alan Bond excuse. (you should remember that excuse, it is a great one and it works)

So you're pushing the, crows are exempt of all blame card?

So your pushing the, crows are exempt of all blame card.

when did I say that.

I am pulling the, there is no point hating Tippett outside being a bit disingenuous about his home, but the blame for the clause or not clause depending on who you believe is completely at the feet of Trigg for accepting it and his managing for allowing it (or creating it if you want to believe the Crows) card.

I don't even blame his manager as its the managers responsibility to try and get the best deal possible for the player.

The club have a duty of care to say no abd then report the manager to the commission for up being unethical in following the rules and guidelines of a player contract.

Oh I agree.

It is interesting. My dad had a chat with a few Crows admin people in the year before Tippett left.

Certain people in the Crows hierarchy had serious issues with Tippett and his behavior, but in particular the involvement of his father in his career.

i guess in hindsight, had these people know what Trigg had agreed to, they would have taken this issue more seriously and pissed Tippett off.
