That honestly seems like the only market they care about, anyone else and it's 'who?'

This game's sales will ultimately depend on the marketing though. Could go either way with Activision likely to pit Destiny up against it.

I dislike the sound of this one so far (never been a fan of vehicles in MP), the 16 player limit seems ludicrously low for a next-gen title as well, not even topping COD?!

And worst of all it's MP only. These guys have created 2 of the greatest FPS campaigns I've ever personally played and now they're ditching a campaign completely? Poor form.

Always going to struggle to sell me on an MP only game anyway though considering my lack of care for that type of mode in general.

  • Xbox 360 version developed by someone else
  • Planned to target current gen, but realized that they couldn't run it
  • Started to look into next gen and the answer they got from Microsoft intrigued them
  • They said they needed to focus on fewer hardware. In the future they are open to more. They don't specify if it would be this project or another.
  • Plan to use Microsoft's Cloud for dedicated servers and physics and AI calculations
  • Spring 2014 Release Date
  • In my opinion it visually looks pretty nice.
  • First person shooter
  • "Mech" and ground combat
  • "Mech's" are called Titans.
  • They want these Titans to feel fast. They can dodge etc.
  • If you don't want to pilot the Titan you can have it follow you, killing people as it goes along.
  • Player characters are called Pilots
  • They are extremely agile. Can run on walls, multiple jumps.
  • They can take down Titans. Jumping on them and shooting the "brain".
  • You need to be cunning as a pilot. "Hit and fade" tactics is the term the game director uses.
  • Pilots come equipped with a variety of weapons. Pistol, Assault Rifle, Anti-Titan Rocket Launcher, data knife used to hack AI characters into joining you.
  • There are AI enemies on the maps.
  • You survive longer than in COD. Making it more welcoming to newcomers.
  • Source Engine. Building new engine = too much time.
  • Source gives them 60 fps
  • Rewrote aspects of it for next gen
  • Article talks about the process of forming the team, being fired, prototyping ideas etc. I recommend reading it.
  • Going for a District 9 or Blade Runner vibe.
  • Integrate memorable single player moments into a multiplayer game.
  • Storytelling style will be more Left 4 Dead.
  • Humans segregated between Earth and frontier planets. Corporation trying to take the resources of these frontier people

Sorry but that info HBK put up doesnt intrigue me in the slightest, very disappointed with how it sounds atm (seeing it at E3 will form a better opinion i'll admit) but right now i cant see this succeeding, especially as a MP only game, in a world of Halo, CoD, Battlefield and against the marketing power Activision will no doubt throw at Destiny.

Maybe CoD4 was a fluke for this team.

Will this be a launch title for X1? another idiotic move if its going against BF4 & CoD. You just dont do that to new franchises.

Think I read somewhere that it comes out in 2014, obviously could be wrong since we know next to nothing about the game.
 
Seems interesting enough, cant really judge it though until I see some footage.

Sony Fanboys out in full force going on about how this game isn't that good and likely to flop. Ahh, I remember the days when I used to get jealous of the games the other console had.

The Game looks incredible. It's been a long time coming, but we're finally going to get a Futuristic Sci-Fi FPS that can rival Halo.
 
I'll give it a look when it comes to PS4, in fact i'll rent it first to make sure its any good #noDRMproblems

Have fun beta testing it for us, I'll be occupied with BF4 & Destiny while i wait. Hope they patch in some recoil by then and remove the wall jumping gimmick.

Don't hype it too much.

It's not aimed at Halo in the slightest. The game mechanics look better defined and it looks like it plays a lot tighter.

It's a bunny hop, twitch shooter with mech. :confused:

Technical shit doesn't interest me, just the fact that it's Sci-Fi FPS is enough to be compared to Halo for me.

Once again, it looks awesome, and the jealousy posts are hilarious.
