Just been looking at some Titanfall stuff, why did i think it was a launch title?
Hot dog it looks good, and i reckon it will be interesting how it has a multiplayer campaign, BUT i read atm it has only shown 7v7 mp, surely they will have to expand the numbers for mp?

According to the IGN wiki it's 64 players on X1/PC but I can't find a source so take that with a grain of salt. I don't think they're announced the MP numbers (or I can't find where they've said it) but I'm pretty sure they've said there will be some AI.

AI in mp? isn't the idea of mp to be playing other players? i can understand AI in the mp campagn but not 12v12 or whatever numbers they end up with.

Not gonna be 64, it's not a big warfare type game.

It's small-medium map types and remember it's Source engine too which isn't a huge environment game either.

First leaks said 8 vs 8. Has anyone looked over footage to try and count the numbers in games?

16 vs 16 you'd think would be maximum.

It was a rhetorical question.

Source Games can have absolutely enormous maps, saying the Source Engine can't have huge environments is a huge load of crap. Go & play Garry's Mod, Left 4 Dead, Half-Life 2 etc.

They are not multiplayer games trying to cram 16-32 players on the map at once with mechs/AI, while keeping a 60fps framerate.

Garry's Mod had 100+ player DarkRP/Perp Servers with maps that aren't even viable to play without cars or trains. They run just fine.

Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 renders absolute stacks of zombies on screen at a time.

Mindless AI is different to actual players. And Garry's Mod MP isn't a dev made optimised mode.

CS:S would be the best comparison.

What does being dev made have to do with the price of fish? It's still the Source Engine.

Sure, mindless AI isn't the same as another player, but when there's over 50 of them on a screen at once in an 8 player game, that's more than enough to suggest the Source Engine is capable of handling a lot. Not even worth discussing this, they update the engine all the time anyway.

Because devs have optimisations to stick to.

Just Cause 2 has hundreds of players in MP mode too, but if JC(3/4, whatever) was to have an actual dev made MP mode it would be far, far, far, far less because they need it to be optimised and workable.

Most engines are 'capable' of doing a lot more than generally gets put into your regular game, but that's because the devs have to work to certain capabilities and can't overstretch that otherwise their game becomes a buggy mess.

Again, CS:S is the one to compare it to. Not any of the other games.

My god this game looks insane! It's easily in my top 3 games that i want for next gen....whether i do actually buy an xbox for it or not i am still undecided on.

I truly love the look of the movement and the way you can see that the skill ceiling is EXTREMELY high (pity i don't have the time to get that good at it).
Have fun camping in a game like this....you'll get torn to shreds by the super speed/movement!

Despite my lack of skill on KB/M I think I'll still pick this up on PC.

But will wait for reviews if there is a marked difference between PC and X1.

Probably going to cancel my X1 pre-order, so hoping PC is superior version.
