Re: Today @11am @ Gosh Paddock vs Bendigo

The live chat has started;

Players going around today;

Luke Mason:
The AFL listed players out there today are Goldsack, Rounds, Witts, Beams, Wood, Wellingham, Seedsman, Stubbs, Williams and McNamara.

No Didak or Johnson, they would have to be ruled out of round 1 now.

No Tarrant, but that was expected, he'll play next week after training strongly.

BEAMS.:D:thumbsu:

Re: Today @11am @ Gosh Paddock vs Bendigo

Beams left at three quarter time along with rounds so you would expect one if not both would be named for Friday night.

Wellingham performed well, despite his strapped left knee he moved freely and was hitting packs hard.

Witt's went off with a corked thigh half way through the last quarter but didnt look serious

Goldsack was very impressive, he is going to have a big year

Are you able to do a post match report TD? or someone who went? I'm very interested in how beams played.

Also, regarding Rounds, i think he should be played in the forward line. His only good game in the back line last year was when tagging Brent Harvey

Just came home and while it did not Rain - The Wind was Bitterly Closed.

This is the Notes I have:

  • I really like what I say from Marley Williams Again. Took some Strong Marks and Long Kicks. Playing in Defense
  • Beams played but did not really notice him
  • Witts was good and got 1st hands in the Ruck and took a few good Contested Marks. Went on off in last and put ice on his Calf
  • Wood was solid but not a Standout
  • Goldsack was BOG for me
  • Round was Solid
  • Shae looked lost as usual
  • Seedsman was good but did not get many Touches

Thanks Luke for the chat live, just read it after lunch - sturdy performance in the arctic conditions by the sound.

Sounds like everyone got through OK, which is the main thing - a minor cork to Witts the exception.

Goldy sound like he played like a man possessed - hopefully he'll find a slot for himself this year, I'm a fan and think we're a better team overall with him in it - he adds huge versatility IMO.

Didn't hear a lot about Beams, anyone who was there what did you think?

Also, Wellingham sounded like he had a decent hit out, Wood solid aswell?

Rounds is not doing a lot wrong by the sound of things trying to grab a spot.

Nice we're getting some of the injured guys back on line.

Agreed that Rounds should be played forward. I think it was 2010 when he was played forward in the VFL and was brilliant.

Re: Today @11am @ Gosh Paddock vs Bendigo

Luke Rounds will be given more of a chance under Bucks then he was from Mick.

I really think he can be a solid player for us especially when he has our better players around him.

What are you on about?

He played five games last year (with most of the forums calling for his head weekly I might add) and would've debuted in 2010 in place of Blair had his shoulder held up.

You'd think Malthouse was the devil incarnate reading some posts

Re: Today @11am @ Gosh Paddock vs Bendigo

Woudlnt be suprised if beams was in 2nd gear... comming back from injury in a VFL practice game. Hopefully his right for round 1

Cant see any other reason why he would leave todays game at 3qt unless he is playing round 1.

Wouldnt be surprised if Taz was named aswell.

I dont want to sound harsh but in all honesty he was lucky to be brought in for game time in the seniors at all last year such was his form in the two's....

Well another reason would be to manage his workload after comming back from an injury, it dosent mean his a certainty for rnd 1. ill be waiting with baited breath next thursday for the teams

Completely agreed, although I felt he acquired himself well enough ince brought up regardless, even if he was a complete defensive player.

Malthouse certainly didn't hold him back though.

Has anyone else got this bad feeling that because Lachie Keefe didn't run around today he is in line for selection in the seniors next week?

I'm not trying to get too negative about him, but he'd get slaughtered by the Hawks IMO, Hale would tear him to bits.

I'm hoping beyond hope that he is just being saved as an emergency in case Taz doesn't come up.

Just my opinion. If you don't like it then don't read what I have to say.

Really looking that Way Matty. Guess that would even up with them having no Ruck

My arse he would. Not sure why so many people have turned on Keeffe this preseason, he's still young and he continues to show improvement.
