Slightly disappointing. Conditions were abysmal early and the Roos came out far more determined and committed and handled the conditions far better. Slipped away to a good lead and we played catch up footy for most of the day. Got to within six points but then the Roos kicked away again to win by 25 points. They would be pleased with that effort. Cat's at times seemed a little lacklustre and prob. behind the Roos in preperation.
Positives: Matty Scarlett in great touch, easily our best.
Ablett was mercurial at times.
James Kelly made a sound return.
Otto was good in the ruck after struggling up forward (as all big forwards did in the conditions).
Bartel was his usual courageous self.
Tenace showed enough to say he should be in for a big year.
Mackie, Rooke & Enright fair.
Not so positive: Ling was unusally quiet early. Bit better in 2nd half.
Chambers once again proved not up to this level.
Haynes decision making was dreadful the few times he got it.
Chapman couldn't get into the game.
Kingsley was just plain disgraceful.
Byrnes struggled.
Our direction and discipline left a lot to be desired.
Not the end of the world but a big improvement is required.
