This is dumb stuff. We have the better of general play all the time but fall apart with out forward decision making and shots at goal.

3 posters, kicking in to the man on the mark from 15m, Fev marking at 47m, passes off to Russell the same distance out on a better angle. Result, Russell doesn't come close to making the distance.

Pagan should be smarter here too. Scarlett wants to run off and kick goals dragging Fev upfield. Tell Kennedy or Deluca to go with him when he does that and leave Fev on their opponent. That way they don't have the extra man and we have Fev on a lesser defender.

This could end up very ugly for us, 36 down at half time.
And why bother with Sporn 2 possesions to half time, would rather see someone who will be at the club next year than a bloke who isnt.

Must admit he looks totally lost our there. Does not appear to have a future in AFL football. On the flipside, good to see McGrath having a go. Spending some time in the midfield and on the wing, demonstrating what he is capable of when not called upon to play a negative tagging role.

We should be right in this game. More frustrating than watching a game where we are genuinely outclassed.

We should have won another few games this year easily. If we get the spoon this year, it will be biggest crock of **** I have ever seen. We are better than that but one part of our game falls apart each time. Sometimes disposals, sometimes we tire out, today it is goalkicking. Wasteful wasteful wasteful.

Whitnal is doing us damage with his kicking. Its another one of those games were the opposition simply hold there positions and wait for us to turn it over, which were happily obliging,Stevens needs a slap in the face and Fev needs help up front.Simpson is xlnt,AB and Blackrs are trying hard.Carlos Im happy with.He spoils good ,chases hard.French has got to retire.McLaren is no better. We need some serious goalkicking practise, both set shot and in general play.As much as I love AW his kicking isnt quite up to scratch

Bad accuracy at goals... and a bit of a sleep during time-on second quarter...and we've most likely lost an opportunity at snaffling one.

The only funny thing is that we're going to probably win less games than we did in our other 2 wooden spoon years... and we wont win it thanks to Essendon.. the other funny thing is we're playing better than the other 2 years we won the spoon!

We just want a win.
:(

They have given up. That ****es me off big time. Hardly trying anymore, just spat the dummy. Lack of character.

My favourite player is Andrew Walker. 14:20 to go on the clock in the third, Geelong trying to get out of trouble on our attacking 50, Walker makes an attempt to tackle the player spins back the other way, Walker decided not to make a second effort and stops dead in his tracks while the Cat player was still under pressure.

Our percentage will now be below Essendon's. If we lose to them we are spooners again. No escaping it. We have potential but very little execution and when I see players giving up on contests with 8 weeks to go, I think we are the worst team in the competition.

What's worse is we can't drop players who do that. Even Russell dropped his head going for a mark with nobody around him .. heard footsteps.

Very disappointed.

We're rubbish. Draft pick and Pagan retiring next year will make the diff. Until then watch the Bullies and mediocrity as expected..

I mean we can't even contest with Geewrong who are crap, what does that say?

I concur!

Good to see Russell take a gutsy mark to make amends. Dropped another he probably needed to take when the ball came straight back again.

16.2 to the Cats. We cop some freakish goalkicking more than I would like (last week's Lions aside).

I think the boys are going to give up the rest of the season by the look of this crud!

they're lower than low!

Yes we've had injuries to some good players and we're not fielding our best side... bOOO hOOOO hOOOOO...

pull your finger out of your ar$es and we don't expect you to win...just be proud that you are one of very few people able to represent this proud jumper...

get some hunger and some guts!

I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!! GET ME A STRAIGHT JACKET!

Really frustrating to see how hard work rewarded with behinds from easy shots. I can't fathom how we continually make little errors, the same errors, week in week out. I know the kids are young, but they don't look to be learning from their mistakes. They keep making the same mistakes over and over. :(

Cant believe how hard we suck.Mcgrath for some reason is playing up front and just missed a few easy shots at goal,Stevens on the bench(good),Sporn is waisting our time,we simply arent fast enough.Every week the opposition get to the fall of the ball first and I think our biggest problem is our rucking and hard ball gets.Im not saying this because Im ****ty watching the game but it looks like our climb up the ladder is going to take longer than we thought. Also I cant believe how much Fev is getting held.Once again the thing that worries me is the amount of times a no name opposition player hurts us eg: Forget that,as I type DeLuca then Walker both kicked to the opposition which resulted in a goal. We reek.

Before you lose all hope, cast your mind back to the Bulldogs circa 2003. Remember the outcry and laughter when they consistently missed easy shots at goal. For several weeks at training they had the cardboard players on the mark to practice their kicking for goal. 3 years later and they are finals bound. They were a young side back then. I know it is frustrating and at times hard to watch, but we all know the kids are going to get better and better. What sort of confidence is Kennedy going to get from that great mark against Harley in the last quarter and then his follow up goal? If you play the kids there will be pain.

One thing we are consistent at is playing out of form players and teams, into form. Got to love that. :(

Totally agree,
and the fact that we gave the ball to them.
How many turnovers can we manage?
One certain player (33) hit more cat targets than his own team.

Another good effort by the Blues. I think the thing you have to look forward to, is that as soon as your list is developed (including players from this year and next years draft) you will see instant success. No team is as hungry to get back on track as the Blues are, but at the moment they just lack the talent to do it. Carlton will be a force to be reckoned with in 3-4 years time. Fevola, Waite, Fisher, Kennedy is a very potent forward line indeed. Mcgrath and Betts are improving. In my view, in 3-4 years time your midfield will comprise of Murphy, Simpson, Stevens, Houlihan, Bentick, Carazzo and ill take a punt, and say Gibbs as well. Also allow for the number of midfielders youll pick up in the next 3 years and youll be set in that department. Let me say im very impressed with Simpson and Murphy so far. Down back Whitnall may not be around that much longer, however I feel that this will be fixed either by Carltons first or second pick this year, or at least next year. All you'll need then is a batch of pacey backpockets and half back flankers and the list will be complete. Unlike the Bombers, Carlton arent too far away from finding success.

Very very dissapointed with the skill level of the team today ...our decision making is atrocious ....Walker is a liability ..his skill level is way below what should be acceptable at his stage of development ...I shudder to think we may have another Livingston :o

Nick Stevens shows no leadership qualitys whatsoever
but on the positive side Simpson looks like he has come of age and will be a gun .
Kennedy showed a glimpse of his future in the forward line with that great mark in the last quarter .

Fev is a deadset champion and continues to show why he is the best forward in the comp (imagine what this bloke could do if he was at Adelaide )

I have a sneaking suspicion that our 3rd wooden spoon is approaching ...God i hope i'm wrong !
