Coaches votes are irrelevant as they only vote for midfielders - top 10 players - nine are midfielders - Only Buddy can break into this rarefied group.
I would only have Buddy in the top 10 players in the comp that is not a mid. What forward, back or ruck is better than Ablett, Kennedy, Fyfe, Pendlebury, Watson, Selwood or Beams. Mids are the best players in the comp - it's not the 90s.

Which makes it even more of an achievement for Goldstein to collect these votes

His nickname must be "Token" played maybe four decent games this yr , when the opp coach can't think of a decent player, Goldy's merely the default pick.

Lol - clearly took the points against a very good ruckman today. How did belly go v Shaun Hampson?

So heaps of marks and a few goals?

Belly won the battle with Grundy, a few good marks & kicked a couple, still rusty after the reco though.

Like Ryder on Friday night but had a bigger impact and more possies. Unlike Ryder however he did let the opposition ruckman kick the match sealing goal.

If Joe Daniher is keeping any forward out of your side it is a really worry. Good that Belly had the better of a 20 year old kid.

why? the quicker he gets 50 or 60 games in him the better for everybody. Not withstanding the fact that Bellchambers hasn't been 100% fit at any stage this year.

I'm not sure what your gripe is here, Belch is a very good ruck who can also be a very good forward, he just hasn't been fit at any stage this year, there's not a lot more to it than that

Wayne Carey had injuries and was still a great player, therefore injuries have no bearing on a player's form.

My gripe is the stupid comment that Goldstein would be behind Bellchambers and Ryder if at essendon. He has clearly outperformed both to this stage and only this year had Ryder closed the gap.

You would not find a player that is 100% fit. They all carry something - some do it better than others.

Haaaaaa Haaaaaa - Grundy was named best on ground and Belly not listed in the 6 best for essendon!!!!

Jesus - I got into a debate with someone that has no understanding of the game.

If North traded Goldstein they would be completely screwed. By far the most important player at North.

Not sure why Bellchambers has anything to do with this. I wouldn't want Goldstein at Essendon personally, too 1 dimensional, and don't trust the VFL bests for Essendon, Bellchambers was probably 2nd or 3rd best for us. You could clearly see the difference between when he was in the ruck and Jesse Bowe, who was making his VFL debut, in the ruck. Bellchambers was solid there, broke even with Grundy, but Bowe was being toyed with, and as such, Collingwood won the clearances. My bests would have been: O'Brien, Steinberg, Bellchambers, Duscher (VFL), Coghlan (VFL), Ashby

EDIT: not sure why this was edited out, but Bellchambers was named in the bests on the Essendon website

The op did not start this thread in the thought of trading him - just wanted to know what posters thought his worth was.

Goldstein has made 2 AA squads - he has been in the best 2 rucks in those 2 years. Ryder never has and Bellchambers never will. Goldy is so far in front of Bellchambers it is embarrassing to compare the 2. Goldy just bet Mumford while a 20 year old kid was best on ground in the VFL playing against Bellchambers.

As for Ryder v Goldy - Goldy is smashing him in the coaches votes on top of Ryders opponents getting a lot more votes. But you probably don't trust the coaches opinion over your own. It's great to have a ruckman that tries every time he runs out.

Oh my god. Do you have to argue that every single post? Where did I mention Ryder? Bellchambers has been troubled by an ankle injury all year, of course Goldstein is going to have a better year than him.

I have no problems with saying Grundy was BOG, which isn't too surprising considering for most of the day he was playing on a bloke on his state league debut. Bellchambers was good in the ruck when he was there but because we were missing Pears and Kefford, the 2 blokes who've been playing key forward most of the year in the VFL, we had to keep him forward because we haas nobody else there.

Closed the gap? Ryder is shitting all over Goldy this year and the smart supporters and commentators know it.

So you watched the Ess ressies instead of your own rabble did ya?, lol relying on stats again.

Argue? I am not screaming the words into the post. Essendon 2 rucks are in this thread as an Essendon poster has Ryder and Bellchambers in front of Goldy. A comment like that would be a perfect fit for your delusional pearler thread.

Nahas has been out injured most of the year. Of course Heppell is going to have a better year than him. Stern look.

Here he is - bold letters? Someone is rattled. Coaches votes >>>> your opinion. Did you see Goldy take the points over a very good ruckman yesterday?? Big chance for more coaches votes. That game sealing goal of Marics was very good. Maybe some votes thrown Marics way as well.

Rabble? I would give looking at the ladder a miss. Go Tigers!!!!

Then why the hell did you bring it up over my post? Goldstein is one dimensional. Is he a very good ruckman? Yes. I think his point was that Bellchambers and Ryder would be a better combination than Goldstein and Ryder as both can play forward effectively.

I should have know putting Ryder and Bellchambers above Goldy was trolling

But since Feb last year I have serious concerns about your lot and the level of delusion you can get reach.

Hey Guys,

So poor Todd gets scapegoated after every loss that we have, its funny because he is a true barometer of our team, if he plays well we normally have a win if we lose its blame Todd again. Sure he gets beaten just like any other player, but i think is too harshly criticized.

So i am wondering, what is his worth, what are you prepared to give up for him.

I thought this his first six weeks were ordinary since that point you could argue he's been in our best 11 out of the remaining 13 games.

He's no doubt lifted his intensity and gets to more contests regardless of whether he holds the mark. I doubt when Carey was potting rucks he had Goldie in his crosshairs.

Would be worth a first rounder for sure.

His one dimension is far superior compared to the however many dimensions Ryder and bellchambers has
