In laws, particularly mother in laws, are just a nightmare for the most part. My gf's mum isn't rude to me so much but listening to her constantly go on about how much her life sucks really wears me thin.

She plays victim in every situation, who knows why, she doesn't gain anything, and everything is always someone else's fault, and most of her problems are caused directly by herself, and she's rather immature too.

Anyone have any stories regarding in laws? And how do you tolerate them? Or are yours so great that you want to have a brag?

All I can say is, I hear ya man, I obviously have a pretty similar MIL to you.

You're talking to your girlfriend in 25-30 years time ;)

Haha. You have a strange way at looking at the world. If I had a daughter I'd want her to find a partner and have a healthy sex life. Not be some weird virgin wallflower.

Easy to say this, but in reality? My parents were complete hypocrites when it came to me having my bf vs my brother having his gf over. And was I 17/18 or something? No 30. Ffs.

Exactly. Sex is a normal part of life.
Doesn't matter if they don't like you. You will always have it over them that you are doing their daughter
You have a lot of growing up to do.

.

There was a great doco on ABC recently- this woman shaking up sex education in schools. Imho this is what we need. At the end of her program the girls in it were speaking up better and taking charge of their own bodies.

We so need something like this- instead of the generic functions/what things do etc.

I mean I was in a class where the withdrawal method was taught to a bunch of Year 10s. Ffs.

I don't think that having a daughter with a normal sex life will be a priority once Chad and Tyrone begin knocking on the door
