That chase down the wing was unbelievable! One of the greatest individual selfless efforts I've seen from a player all season. Awesome stuff TC!!!
Especially liked it as well because you could tell that he was stuffed, but put in and laid the tackle.

"I told 'Milney' before the game, 'mate, I'm going to give it everything I've got for you.' All the other boys did the same and that's why we were able to give them such a good send-off. I played a few games with 'Kosi' in the VFL this year and he told me, 'Just keep working hard and playing the game out to the last second, regardless of whether you’re up by 100 points or down by 100 points, because you never know who's watching.' That's the part of the legacy he's left me, and I'm doing my best to live up to that. It's been an absolute privilege to play with all of them for their knowledge and passion, and I'm honoured to have the opportunity to learn from them."

Happen to know when it happened? Would love to see it, but don't have time to sift through the entire match right now.

Put a helmet on him and see who he reminds us of.

In all seriousness there is a bit of Nathan Burke about Curren in terms of toughness and workrate but I reckon Curren has Burkey covered skillwise.

Not sure what his nickname is yet, but I've dubbed him 'Guns'...

His first name is Tom, & his biceps already rival Chris Tarrant & Paul Kelly... Oh & he'll be damn good too, so its more than fitting

Tommy 'Guns' Curren :thumbsu:

Thanks Squizzy.

a/ how good is Kosi's advice.
b/ how good is TC's application of that advice in game time.

I have not seen much of Tom at VFL level, what i have seen of him at AFL level indicates -to me, no expert- we have a 200 game player on our hands. I thought/guessed he was a player with limited ability who could become a tagger. I think now he could easily become a cross between Kieran Jack and Sam Mitchell - perhaps not as good as either, but as effective with his own gameskills - if he is willing to work hard...and i guess we already know whether or not this kid is willing to work hard...:D

Did any other players stand out this weekend that are also in contention for the rising star? Curren getting it would be the perfect way to finish a season that only had 5 wins.

I probably agree with this but Curren still makes some good clangers ATM.
Just elevate him to the main list already and move on.

Really impressed by TC yesterday.Deserves to be this weeks rising star and will definitely be upgraded to the senior list next year. Loved his attack on the footy and the way he hunted the footy was Lenny/J.Selwood like. Early call but my tip is he will keep the no.43 next season and be passed on the no.7 by Lendog :)

I dont think Ledger can be nominated despite being on this list as he debuted in 2011/2012. Is that right?
Ledger can be nominated as he's played under 10 games before the beginning of this year and only turned 21 in March. This is his last chance for a nomination though.

whats his contract status?
On a rookie contract, which is only 1 year I believe and yet to re-sign again. I'd assume they would draw up a new deal when he gets promoted to the senior list when list lodgements are due?

Wait, your talking bout Curren right? I thought he was uncontracted too. Bit scary having kids that good uncontracted only played a handful of games. I would expect other teams to be circling.

curren is on his 3rd year as a Rookie, he has to either be listed as a senior player or delisted.

i would assume as he is in hte devlopment leadership group he will be elevated to the senior list and get a 2 year contract (I would hope)

LOL Luke Brown from Crows won Rising Star. It's official the "rising star" is a joke

Are you farking serious?!?! That is a disgrace!

Luke Brown - 21 touches, 4 tackles (DT 66, SC 65)
Tom Curren - 26 touches, 5 marks, 3 tackles, 1.2 goals (DT 100, SC 128).... & kept Danyle Pearce to only 18 touches

Seriously.... WTF?!?!?!
