..back on topic, this thread's original intent reminds me a lot of the 'goddard to blues' stuff from years back.. ..not much romance left in the sport.. ..i reckon scully will stay, but if he does leave it'd be due to the insane gws offer.. ..which is a now or never offer....if he stays, he's stayin' for good i'd say..
Different climate to back then Kahuna

What it does remind me of though is back an eon ago when the greatest FF ever wanted to leave St. kilda and come to Richmond ...

Great offer was on the table players wise, the dollars were right , but low and behold , Sydney bound for Robbie Neal who would have been lucky to have played 10 games for the Aints and a draft pick . very poor compensation compared to what the RFC offered

HHHMMMMM ... very odd ;) ... strings will be pulled make no mistake .

The AFL will do whatever it takes to make GWS work and as usual it will be Melbourne clubs who cop it up the jacksy

To say that we can offer Scully more than Melbourne is a pretty long bow to draw. Right now Melbourne probably are ahead of Richmond in terms of development.

To use last night results as an argument to back that up is an even longer bow to draw though. In fact it probably crosses the boundary of idiocy.

We played basically a second side.

In a game against the premiers who had 6 of their premiership players missing, we, who finished 15th, had our first 4 in the B&F missing.

Perspective, along with common sense and common decency seems to be out of reach for many people

This is why Sydney make me sick. Detest those maggots.
St kilda named one of (i Think) richo, campbell or knights as the minimum they would accept, yet as you say the accepted **** all from Sydney. Very very strange indeed.

I'm sure though that the dramas with his greyhounds meant that Lockett was very happy to leave victoria at the time.

Anyone that thinks Sydney didnt get looked after by the AFL should look at when micky o ran into an umpire celebrating a goal and got off. Other players at the time got penalities for making contact during play.

Then there was the time a thug with a poor record at the trubunual got off so he could play in a grand final.

It's all sickening.

Yes you are spot on. Add to that, he will not be with your club next year. Already a football mercenary at 19. Not good.

We shall see. Loyalty, Friends, Family, Success OR Money.

So why wait to re-sign if its not all about money? I know its very important for everyone in all walks of life, but this speculation is just hurting his reputation and bringing uncertainty into the club. Deep down i wonder how Bailey is feeling.

Dude, how old do you think I am, LOL! I wasn't even around during this "hay-day". The only grand final I ever saw was in 2000, and it sucked lol.

As for what we've done, the answer proves alot more then you have. What has Richmond done for you to deny Melbourne's NOT closer? We've cleared our debt, we've recruited a select group of GUN youngsters, we've got an awesome board running the helm, and everyone that needs to be at the club to make it happen, is now there to do so. We're building the type of team where our "best-22" is very hard to concrete. Whereas Richmond on the other hand seem to be in a simular boat to where we we're like, 5 years ago. You guy's are WAY behind us tbh. Look @ 2nite for example, wasn't all that impressive now was it?

Call it a stupid remark all you want, but until you have a valid reason as to why Richmond's actually AHEAD of Melbourne, other then your heart refusing to comply, then you have no case to bare.

Where did i say richmond were ahead of melbourne, I replied to a comment where it was qouted that melbourne were closer to a flag than richmond ......... No your not there is nothing to guarantee you will get a flag with the current crop of players based on their draft number.

debt demolition, board the correct people in place WTF
these people dont play on the mcg in the last saturday in september or get you there its the players IDIOT

Your claiming that you have a list .......... based on what ? they have not done anything yet.

Richmond in 2005 recruited 1.delidio4.tambling.12 meyer.26pattison
they dont all work out to be players.

as far as you know trengove, scully, watts, tapscott, blease, morton could just become run of the mill players & not live up to potential as tambling, pattison, meyer etc etc like many teams youngster i just named the 1's at richmond as examples.

Finally ..................... based on tonight for example you say
10-12 starting players missing we were playing our 12-40 player range so basicaly coburg & coburg reserves teams
conca, helbig, bachelor, mcdonald, jacobi, derickx all recruited last november played.

YOU BASED ON LAST NIGHTS GAME ...............

I disagree. A pedant could argue tautology, but even then it's subjective.

In context, Cathal was incorrect. And you talk of Spartans ?

Nothing tautological in my statement.

A laconic statement is a very concise or terse statement. The word laconic comes from the Greek Lacedaemon (or Laconia), where supposedly the local people spoke in a very concise manner. Lacedaemon is also known as...Sparta, hence the Spartans reference.

...hahahaha...i'll just tip toe through this grammatical minefield...and simply talk of football...

Made my point on the football much earlier in the thread, not much left to argue now.

P.S. love your reason for editing:thumbsu:

Ive just been told by a reliable source that Dustin Martin eats his oranges whole, Sorry Tom

I don't know what the commotion is about???
Scully is coming to Richmond.
Everyone knows that, even GWS!!!
Any big money offers is just a diversion:D
_____________________________________________

If Scully really wanted to play at Tigerland then the trade period at the end of this year would be the one to do it in.

Scully says at years end - trade me to Richmond or I'll take a GWS offer.

What could Richmond offer to satisfy Melbourne?

They couldn't or wouldn't... But it'd be something like Richmond's 1st round draft pick plus the compensation we got for Tambling plus a player.

Everyone knows they tanked to get him, serves them right.
