Total hypothetical here. But even if we payed 500k-600k to get him, that's still too much for a 19yr old.

do you see the irony, there both shit clubs, without scully were still better off than you guys, you didnt beat won VIC side last season, the time you guys fire riewoldt will be 36, if you nuts think us or you are going to win before GC or GWS your in a dreamworld,GC have a better list than our clubs now, sad but true.
why would he play for a club thats played 3 finals matches in 27yrs, do you want him to end up like richo.
, remind me when the dees last saluted, try and get a colour DVD of that oneLog in to remove this Banner Ad

Scully was always earmarked for the number 1 pick, so hypothetically, if Sanchez had missed that goal we probably would have picked him, and this board would be now in meltdown. Thank God for Dusty.

Any calls for Scully to come to us are delusional. GWS have the capacity to offer far more and even then why would we want a player so readily wanting to betray the club that chose him? On top of that, even should we be able to match the absurd pay packet it would take to get him, how would that sit with the rest of our list? Would they be comfortable getting paid a third as much as a greenhorn kid? What about at contract negotiation time? How much more will they all be asking for?
But all this useless rhetoric gets in the way of the simply stupidly blatant truth, Scully isn't going to go anywhere full stop.

Scully still had a poster of Lids up in his bedroom even after he had been drafted to Melbourne.

how do you know??
very good post.
This whole thread is bizarre. GWS can afford to pay overs because they have an extra $1M in their salary cap. Richmond don't. All you have is an incredibly tenuous argument that he used to support Richmond. Newsflash: 99.9% of all draftees follow a team, and 90% of them don't get to the club they supported, and just get on with supporting the club they have joined.
You're. How's that Fish? Huh, huh?your smarter than the rest.
coz it's the next 27 he's more concerned with boofhead, you got a cyrstal ball or ya just blowin straight from the clacker...you tell me, remind me when the dees last saluted, try and get a colour DVD of that one
Melbourne would still have Scully, we just would have had pick 2 instead of 3
), we should be re-paying the favor backEddie said on Triple M this morning that it is a VERY strong rumour that he is already signed to GWS.
I for one hope it's true. Melbourne tanked to get those two picks and I'd love nothing more than for them to have that pick taken off them.
The GIANTS will not be the only club making a play for him that's for sure. Great young player coming out of contract, he'll have a stack of offers. Anyone that thinks Collingwood, Carlton, Richmond and Essendon etc. won't be lining up to poach him is well naiive. Travis Boak was approached by Gold Coast, Geelong, Richmond, Essendon. A lot to think about for young Tom.
We'll make contact I've no doubt but along with everyone else we won't be able to compete with the offer coming from GWS.
If Tom Scully were to come to Richmond it would cause a shock that hits double digits on the richter scale.

your smarter than the rest.

The old rumour mill got it right, almost to a man, last year.
Ablett, Brown, Bock, Krakouer and Harbrow were all at first rumoured to be heading to the Suns, most of them from very early last year.
Doesn't look good for the Dees in my opinion - they are going to have to work very hard to keep Scully. They will also be restricted by an improved list in terms of talent and value.
I hope the drums don't start beating for any of our lads...
