Tomic locks self in home; in stand-off with cops

Mind you there are P Platers who are driving around without thier Ps and actually doing stupid things on the road that the police never seem to notice. No wonder the kid wants to live overseas

Maybe it's because he's driving a high powered bright orange sports car with a big 'M3' logo on the back.

Every cop would know that a P plater can't drive an M3.

He obviously bought the car for attention, and know he's complaining when he's getting it.

I'm not gonna jump on the spoilt brat bandwagon, but I'm struggling to understand why he would need the exemption for work purposes. Why do you need a high powered car to get to and from tennis training? Probably just slipped a few bills under the counter at whatever the QLD equivalent of VicRoads is.

I think that fact that he bought a Bright Orange BMW just makes him look like an even bigger tool.

It just reeks of scud. **** I hate kids like this, a danger to themselves and others. He was being a total hoon and deserved the attention he got, I've no doubt. Policeman should've given in to his desire to smack him up a bit.

To be granted an exemption a NEED has to be demonstrated. In Tomic's case it is only a WANT to be able to drive a 309 kW vehicle (speed-limited to 250 kph, cough). It's an ego thing and has nothing to do with earning a livelihood or studying or receiving medical teratment which, without an exemption, would not be possible. Fantasyland.

It's a ****ing automatic....is this guy serious? I already thought he was a massive ****ing knob head, but he even outdid himself here by buying that in an automatic.

Anyone laying into Tomic is a hypocrite. Like you wouldn't do the same thing at 19. Immense talent and money to burn, what do you expect the kid to do? Buy a Ford Focus? Get over the fact that he's more talented than you'll ever be and cut the guy some slack.

Ridiculous comment in bold.

But anyway, he could try and be a normal person and buy an expensive car that is legal to drive. I'm sure there's a legal BMW/Merc/Audi that he'd be happy with until he's 21. Only a knob would apply for a needless exemption, and only a stupid organisation would grant one.

And look how it's ended up. Everyone looks like an idiot. But good on him for coming to his senses and hopefully now the cops can attend to more serious matters.

I wouldn't do the same, so stop lying. Some people don't act arrogant and like jerks if they are famous and wealthy, while others like Tomic do.

Impossible to say whether you would or you wouldn't, having never been there.

Money does very strange things to people.
