Has Tommy started training with you yet or is it still the off-season?
Just wondering how himself and David Moran are settling in.

Yep, started over a week ago. Was running laps in the heat, he's insane. Will fit in perfectly

That is one part of footy I don't miss, more power to the man for running laps in that as it also is one way to acclimitise to the severity that AFL can be played in. Now all they need to do is bring him down to Kilmore or the Gippsland area during the winter so him to play in torrential rain and he'll be set.:p

I recon he will play for sandy for half the season to help find his feet and then get a chance in the saints lineup . Word around is that we are redrafting Jarryd Allen in next weeks draft and most probably placing him on the LTI list, freeing up a spot on the list for Tommy Walsh.

Someone throw some young soap actresses at him quick. Something to make him forget about Mum.:D

Did anybody happen to read the first article in its entirety?

Can't remember it all, but said things like:
- runs a 2.82 for 20m (think the other article got excited and rounded down!).
- aerobically they think he is OK, despite training for Gaelic being 90 minutes 3 times a week (instead of 7 days a week). Agility is excellent for his height.
- expectations from Saints supporters and local Irish community shouldn't trouble him, as it will be less than the expectations in Gaelic football.
- regularly played with 3 opponents on him.
- Archie Fraser asked Drain how they could get a free hit in recruiting, so they upped their efforts with international rookies.
- Jim Watts (former St Kilda chairman) is friends with several former Kerry greats, including Tommy's father.
- Ricky "Do as I say, not as I do" Nixon has been quite helpful in this process.
- the club was a bit worried when they missed the deadline for signing international rookies last year.
- Walsh has become good mates with Gilbo.
