Kudos to the Power for taking it right up to the Catters tonight in a frantic encounter, including a mini revival in the dying minutes.
Tonight's result confirms that serious damage can be executed from 7th position on the day. In Port's case, they were under 3 goals from a Prelim Final.
Surely we can emulate Port's achievement next season & snag a finals victory!!!

They have been very well coached and planned all year, super fit and their style of play requires it. Great effort over the whole year by Port, but gee that was a terrible game up until half time.

I went to the game. Didn't hold a candle to the atmosphere last week. Felt like a regular season match.

Saw quite a few Tiger supporters there though and plenty of neutrals wearing club colours.

Port were quite lucky that Geelong couldn't kick straight, but by gee do they work hard to get back in numbers. Lobbe is the most underrated footballer in the comp.

Has this club ever been fit enough since Tommy left? Maybe one decade we'll finally realise it's importance again.

yep well done to them, been to watch them a few times this year. wins vs pies and sydney and crows we're fantastic. hinkley has a good coaching group in place that can take these guys forward. game plan brings them wins and they can be super exciting to watch at times.

The 3rd youngest team in the comp has a bright future. Wingard was quiet tonight but his output has been exceptional this season. Throw in Wines, Boak, Hartlett & Broadbent, they will be around the mark again next season.

If he weighs 80kg then that's about 114k.... seems about right....

Who else can we get.... our fitness levels do need improvement.

not sure about that.... gold is about $1300 an once....think its 30 or so onces in a kilo......30 x 84 x 1300= sh##loads :D still I am happy to start up a " gold for burg tiger fighting fund" if it can give us a cert flag :thumbsu:

Port continued to play their way - whether they were up our down... attacking footy.

Tigers get infront and start faffing around with 'tempo' footy - then panic when teams like Carlton surge...

Still hurting.... :(

Yeah, misread the conversion.... so it's about 45-46k per kilo.... that may well put him out of our price range!!

1 Kilogram = 35.2739619 Ounces
Gold = $1,327.90 per ounce

80kg Burgess would be worth $3,747,223.52

Clearly not worth his weight in gold. Maybe silver? Or coal?

It just looked like port we're lucky, geelong seem to dominate 80% of the game but couldn't hit the score board, that said port did look fit and we need a better fitness coach.

Living in SA myself, i can't stand the way port and crows supporters carry on, i wouldn't be unhappy with the wheels falling off for both of them!

Yes Wart I somehow know what it's like living in a two team state. That said, personally I reckon it's the Cow supporters who carry on the most. For example, I've been to numerous showdowns over the years & I compare them to the ferals of victoria park & windy hill in seasons gone by when I was living in Melbourne.

Totally agree, Crows supporters are the most arrogant i have ever met, Been to a few games at AAMI, Richmond Vs Both teams and i hated going to the Crows games every time, port are actually bearable and i even had a decent convo with a port supporter there once, we won and he even shook my hand!!!!! Respect but i still hate the way they whinge and whine about everything especially the umpires, it is always the umpires fault!!!!

The umpires seem to be the villains whether port or the cows play. I've seen it first hand at crows home games. They are a disgrace of a supporter base.

Well, with Hawthorn beating Sydney by 54 points, Sydney beating Carlton by 24 points, and Carlton beating Richmond by 20 points, that puts us 98 points (and counting) away from a Grand Final

Pretty sure that's not how it works.
