I enjoy my footy followed the saints forever. Though most of my footy loving mates are into the bombers to over the years I couldn'd help but stil ''follow'' as in see how they are going, look into their list etc, I enjoy watching them play.

Though what are the thoughts of bomber fans of you guys winning the flag this year? I quite genuinely think you have it in you. I've tipped you guys for top 8 at the moment. Imo no one in the league is near sydney and west coast. Though betweeen Melbourne, Bulldogs, Adelaide, Freo, Saints and I reckon essendon is the top 8. Many teams which I think the dons will quite easily beat (saints mostly sadly :(, im realistic.).

Am i way to optimistic and not realistic at all, or do you guys think you have something special here?.

Way too early to start talking flags obviously. No, not even a thought about it.

But, if we were to sneak in the 8 somewhere, which with a good run of injury I guess isnt impossible, the current state of the league is actually looks good for us, as weird as that sound. We seem to match up and play well against the top 3 premiership favs - West Coast, Sydney and Freo. So, I guess anything is possible in that regard, but I wouldnt even put your money it.

As funny as it sounds, Id be as confident in playing Sydney anywhere as I would Carlton next week. Dunno if Im mentally scared on what, and as funny as it sounds, Id suggest many dons fans would feel similar.

I just want to see us win 2 in a row first.

wouldn't say a threat to the flag. Though i think we are a genuine chance at the top 8. This weeks game will give a good indication at where both freo and the bombers are at. Can we match it with one of the premier sides? and can freo travel to melb and win games?

Lookin forward to the match

I don't think the same as you there M29. I think that we could certainly make the eight, IF we play to our potential. The structure that we showed last weekend was fantastic, and if we can continue that game style, yet define our skills a little better I think we can creep into the eight.

As for the flag, I wouldn't go that far just yet. Maybe next week :p

Another win against an expected top 4..... you guys are still looking the goods.

Imo best spine in the competition. Mal Michael good on the last line. Fletcher finally able to run outa the backline and now gets more touches and is good with his disposal.

Last year Lucas learned how to play against the best defender each week, now Lloydy is back he doesn't have as much pressure and also has Lloyd to help out on kicking goals.

Lovett moved into the midfield(I think) now that Jetta and Davey are upforward(who don't get a lot of ball, but kick goals, 1 each today against Freo)... oh and their pressure is good.

Mcphee is not forced to play key position anymore now Mal and Fletch are doing the job. Jobe can only get better same with Stanton, Monfries etc.

Im a big fan of maybe the players the rest of the competition doesn't rate, like NLM, McVeigh, etc... these guys do a solid job week in week out.

....... lol I am a saints supporter, but I honeslty thing you guys have every chance.

how many more weeks are you going to say that for???

we may as well enjoy the wins while they last. as long as we don't talk s*** to other club's supporters no harm is being done.

nobody here thinks we will win the flag, but we should make finals if our early season form is any indication

Yeah, we definately shouldn't be talking s*** to other club's supporters, can't keep a lid on everyone unfortunately.

There is some "we are a given for finals" stuff out there, although finals are a possibility there is a long way to go still.

Sheedy's flicked the switch, and it's surprised a lot of people, who'd written him, the team, and the club off. He's done it before, but many just don't learn.
As for the flag, well I don't think it'll be Sydney this year, they have to suffer a key injury one of these years. And I don't rate WC the team of supernatural, godly beings that is so often spruiked on this forum - rahter a good backline, average at best forawrd line, one gun ruckman and 3 gun midfielders (make that two). They're beatable.

We were $35 before the season started. Far far too long odds, but we are more realistically looking at making the 8 this year, and trying for a flag the next

On the form line, we've beaten our hoodoo team in their hometown, and gotten over the top of a very switched on, very tough Freo team. Not promising anything, but every year there's a smoky for the top 6 - and we might be it.

How could you NOT rate them?

And they're still missing Cousins and Cox...yet still winning games. They are the benchmark alongside Sydney. Sydney do it in a more workmanlike fashion, although it would be interesting to see if Hall cant play for a couple of weeks, what that will do to them. The might have to play Goodes up front and lose that versatility around the ground. Regardless, they're in the zone right now....right where we need to get to.
