karnivool palace mid 2009 (gonna by tickets to see them this weekend in sydney. psyched)
black keys newcastle about 2 months ago (saw them in melbourne a week later. the myer bowl isn't suited to these guys)
dead letter circus corner hotel end of 2010 from memory (i need to check up what's happening with these guys. so much potential)
the cure berlin 2008 (was seated. would've been so much better standing)
the australian pink floyd show belfast 2008 (was seated again. this time was fine. the only cover band i'd ever recommend to see as a serious gig)
moby brussels 2008 (not a big electronic fan, nor a fan of moby. but for one night of my life at a festival, this guy had me rocking, and i wasn't even on drugs (aside from alcohol obviously)... the girl i was with at the time said i should start listening to his stuff. i never have. i figured just accept what that one night was)
frenzal rhomb the metro sydney 2002 (first gig i ever went too. in hindsight it was probably shit but always had a soft spot for it :))

Nah I was married in '06 and the years surrounding that were very non-music. I've tried Google but alas its no use, show was in summer and at Kings Park in Perth. Oh well, thats one for the mystery books

The Descendents last weekend were great, Would easily make my list.
the descendants, where brilliant the other week not the best ive seen but along time fav
metallica are boring!, excitement sound, its like listing to a cd but its just 4 big egos on stage. after seeing them at the Brisbane the biggest concert let down ive ever had no interactions with the crowd, the rhythm parts of the songs are just to long, lost interest, got man handled out buy security for apparently being a disturbance.

iron maiden,
pennywise, best live act ever, period the most intencemost pits, they allow crowd surfing, they bring the odd person on stage to sing along, if the band members notice some one in the crowd get knocked down or man handled buy security, they will stop in the middle of the song and let their opinion known.

dropkick Murphy's, all their songs are just drinking sing alongs
dream theatre, the musician ship is just amazing
steel panther, go the 80s
dragonforce, meet them before the show (sam signed the gf boobs) the first half of the show was great, the second half was them being drunk tripping over each other.
the g3 concert steve vai, joe satriani, john petrucci
rammstien, for the fireworks display
trivium,
guttermouth,

What year are you talking about with that one? I was there in 2006 and met a girl who I ended up moving to Melbourne for and was together for 6 years.... Without a shadow of a doubt, that gig changed my life!

Otherwise, my favourite gigs that I can currently think of (not involving any of my bands, otherwise it gets too hard)

Against Me! (Annandale Hotel, Sydney, 2003) (special mention Enigma Bar, Adelaide same tour)
Defiance, Ohio (Cat Food Press, Melbourne, 2008)
Les Savy Fav (Billboard, Melbourne, 2011)
Propaghandi (Fowlers Live, Adelaide, 2009)
Limp Wrist (Bendigo Hotel, Melbourne, NYE 2012/2013)
Refused (The Forum, Melbourne, 2012)
Strike Anywhere (Enigma Bar, Adelaide 2005)
AFI (Hi-Fi Bar, Melbourne, 2003)
Bouncing Souls (Corner Hotel, Melbourne, 2006 - for above reason)

special mention to Thee Oh Sees who I saw just the other week out at Abbortsford in an old school ground/quadrangle outside gig thing...

All these gigs are rather 'big' bands and all international acts... There have been plenty of local shows that have been great but they all tend to blur in my memory the more often I repeatedly see the same bands/ or play with them in my own band...

PS... jealous of those who saw The Descendents last weekend..

I haven't been to a heap of gigs yet as am I still relatively young but so far -

Radiohead 2012
Muse 2010 (BDO)
Kasabian 2012 (brilliant live band)
Animal Collective 2013
Coldplay 2012, mainly for the spectacle. The whole stadium/lights show is incredible

I was there too, what the **** was that all about? Only gig I've ever left early, was the most self-indulgent front man I've ever seen (and that's saying something). I'd also add RHCP in 2007 (ish), they played like they didn't give a shit really, no intensity whatsoever, wanted my 100 bucks back.

My faves:
Iron Maiden 2007
Metallica (all the times I've seen em)
Fear Factory 98
The Mark of Cain 2002
Stone Sour 2007
Rage Against the Machine 2007
Nine Inch Nails 2005
Tool 2007
Megadeth 2005
Machine Head 2007
