Article in the Hun said that none of Geelong's three times premiership players is in the top 20 paid AFL players.

I felt incredibly proud of my team about this. Brian Cook had said in a presentation I attended that Geelong had the most players paid above the AFL average, but no-one above the $600K mark. Obviously a 'team first' ethos in all aspects of the club.

Worth having the 'toast' prefix IMO!:thumbsu:

Even lists equal even salaries.
The clubs paying exorbitant amounts to the specific players would fall over without them.
For example...
Riewoldt, Judd, Pavlich, Brown, Ablett...

I don't want to go over old ground, but I loved the title. Loyalty. And then the line saying almost all high profile players were loyal bar one. I wonder if he reads that and realises what he's missing out on.....

Anyway, yeah, credit to the boys. Very loyal.

Full credit to the boys.

I read somewhere a while ago that Geelong puts a lot of emphasis on recruiting local talent in an effort to keep them down the track. And we we have the best list in the league, I guess there is something in the water. But what ever they are doing, it works, so thank you.

Although I must say, with GC and GWS lurking, I get a little nervous when I read a headline like 'GWS sign premiership player' or something like that, my heart drops a little.

This tells you so much the quality of the individuals who make up our playing list. A dozen or so Geelong players could be earning bigger dollars elsewhere, but they have remained loyal.

Total credit to the culture at the Cattery.

Not just the players for buying into it, but the President and Board for running the club so well and for creating the business side success we have seen.

Success these days can't just be on the field - all it takes is one player agent to push his player to not take the current offer and go for more and the player could do it... (where have i seen this movie before?!?)

It's a culture that has led to our current position and all involved should be applauded for their efforts. I for one sing the song at the end of every game and think not only of the 22 blokes that made it happen but other 100 odd behind the scenes as well..

I love this club!

Go Catters.

and a further honourable mention to our new captain. Most of the triple premiership players are at the later parts of their caareers and although club would love to have them - Selwood would be the prime target for targetting with a big money contract.

Stop, just stop.

You had me at "culture".
