Good thoughts MBB, obviously know what you are talking about.
You've mentioned the cream there.

its careys b&f, it doesnt count.
its like a participation award for going to auskick.

haha so true. i suggest you carey kids maybe make your own website to talk up carey, or bullshit yourselves at school instead, coz everyone else is getting sick of it.

My top 5:
1. Martin (HC)
2. Scully (HC)
3. Lees (XC)
4. Strauss (SC)
5. Noonan (XC)

Lynchy is stiff to miss out, but admittedly hes soft at times, iv seen him stay down for ages after being hit on a few occasions.

Ahhh no need to ruin the reputation only conversation, but did anyone even think about Daniel Noonan. Besides the fact he won B and F for Xavier last year, he chopped Lynch in the haileybury match. Stop basing decisions on pure reputation and start looking at real performance

Noonan is a gun, but didnt chop lynch last year, lynch kicked 1 goal 6 points so he didnt keep him quiet at all.
Maybe two names who hav been forgotten Smith form HC and Watts from BGS.

I dont understand how you can rate Lynch that highly. By all means I agree with Lynch being somewhere up there, however he's still pretty soft in my mind and there is a plethora of better players out there. Guys like Martin (Hailebury), Noonan (Xav), Shaw (MGS), Vickery (Hailebury) are all up there, and it has to be said that Lees getting dropped from Sandy after getting BOG in a practise match is absolute crap. He proved that he should be playing TAC with his season last year, and considering he carried injuries the whole way through which impacted on his performance at times there's no doubt he should be playing TAC ahead of many inferior players at Sandy. With guys like Gilchrist (CGS) excelling at TAC level, along with other menial players, there's no doubt that Lees would be thriving in such competition.

Hey i understand your point on lynch to a degree ,Although i rate him as very tough. Dont know if you caught him in the tac and school games he did play he was very very good on some good players . He's a good size and lacks nothing IMO and if he hadnt been injured i think he may have dominarted all year . The next i rated after these guys was vickery and martin and some would argue vickery is ahead of some of the guys i rated earlier and at this stage may well be but I rated them on I guess as best footballers. Scully Ziebell and watts are bottom agers but few would doubt there potential in the future and in my opinion to go past vickery martin noonan etc especially when you see thier achievments already.

I completely agree with guys like Scully, Ziebell and Watts being exciting prospects for the future, but I think it might take them maybe another year before they become such dominant players. IMO, Hailebury will be a dominant force with the likes of top age players such as Vickery, Martin, Lynch, and perhaps, to a lesser extent, even explosive players such as Nicolopoulos, who can break a game open within minutes. Add in some of the kids you'v mentioned, like Scully, and you've got a top 5 largely comprising of Hailebury players, which is a scary thought for the rest of the league. The closest to them would have to be Xavier, and again, names such as Noonan, Lees, Kennedy and O'Sullivan should be tossed up there, with younger kids such as Hannebary looking to make an even firmer impression after a sterling start to APS footy. After seeing Lees' unbelievable commitment on the footy field over the past few years, along with his freakish skill and collosal fitness, he is one who is right up there in my top 5;

1. Martin (HC)
2. Lees (XC)
3. Noonan (XC)
4. Vickery (HC)
5. Scully (HC)

ARE YOU KIDDING? the ultimate white aboriginal warrior sung lee is one of the hardest players in football. and im not limiting that to the APS. last year he would run through packs. it was like a ball of fire wearing red and black. he will prove so many people wrong this year with his guts and determination and his 'right boot'. he may not even have to use his left boot to win xavier the premiership. highly underated player. one of the superstars of this years competition

hey after viewing many matches and looking at the stats for the 2007 APS season i believe that my top 5 players clearly show the depth and grasp needed for an all star 5 combo my top 5 include;

lees
lynch
kennedy
lisle
cachia

wb wt u think

Tom Scully
Tom lynch
Jack Ziebell
Charles Shaw

Who will get drafted from this lot? i was thinking all of them, Ziebell has an extra year.. (the kids a freak) he could still put his name forward this yr.

cachia would definatly not be top 5 in the APS hes a good player, dont get me wrong, but hes not top 5. jack ziebell would definatly be ahead of him

Very different players, how can you compare them?

I would say for marking strength and presence - Ziebell

For disposal and flair - Cachia

Both have excellent competitive aspects to them - they would be amoungst the best Yr 11s no doubt with Scully, Hannebery and Watts.
