Just wondering about Nathan Jones, is he really deserving of Top 25? I just glanced at his numbers which are merely okay other than clearances, and have only seen a couple demons games, but could be more of a case of a beacon in an awful team? Wonder about Chapman as well. All in all, a good 50 :thumbsu:

Poor Port :(

A lot of players below Franklin have been pretty meh recently.
This is why someone like Jones is still there when he perhaps shouldn't be.
Players like Selwood, Dal Santo and Jetta have dropped off leaving Jones higher than where he should be, all things being equal.

I've been out all day so haven't seen how any of the three afternoon games actually went.
As such my scoring may be off and I welcome criticism.

From Geel v Adel:
9 - Hawkins
8 - Dangerfield, Selwood
7 - Chapman, Kelly, Thompson, Taylor
6 - Sloane
5 - Reilly, Bartel

Talia when moved to Hawkins, how did he play?

ROK BOG, Kennedy 2nd BOG, Jack 3rd BOG for mine. So Kennedy and Jack probably did enough to at least hold, depending on the other players around them. O'Keefe is close to the top 50 now as well imo. Richards was good but didn't have a lot to do. Jetta ok but nothing special.

1. Kennedy (not a huge gap ahead of Jack, but has been more consistent. Probably still a 2 game lead on him)
2. Jack
3. Richards
4. Jetta (probably drops another 2-5 places)
-------------------------------
Unlucky: O'Keefe (or late 40's if new players come in this week), McVeigh

McVeigh should join the unluckies now, he has put together a very good season. Bolton close as well.

So we're slowly getting a form line now for the Swans players this year. For the majority of the year it was Kennedy, Jack, Richards and Jetta a clear top 4 but O'Keefe, Bolton and McVeigh are putting together consistent game winning form now.

How would you rate Ablett's game?

Ablett was overall BOG. Smith/McGlynn slowed him up a bit in the 2nd half but he was everywhere as usual. Ridiculous how good he has become. It has almost become the norm to expect performances like last night. He'll retire as the best player I've ever seen.

Top 5 would have been:

5. Ablett
4. O'Keefe
3. Kennedy
2. Jack
1. Bolton

1. Watson
2. Ablett
3. Cotchin
4. Thompson
5. Pendlebury
6. Beams
7. Swan
8. Kennedy
9. Mitchell
10. J.Selwood
11. Jack
12. Deledio

Based on what I've seen I'd go something like that? A clear gap to 13th in my head, those 12 have been very good and you could mix the order up.

From Carl v Rich:
10 - Murphy
9 - Tuck
8 - Cotchin, Maric
7 - Betts, Deledio, Rance

Did Rance get a vote for every turnover that resulted in shots on goal,, that's the only way he could get a 7, his overating is getting beyond a joke.

Where do you have McPharlin ep? Would go close to AA at this stage.

Okay, after quickly reviewing his season, here's what I have:
Rd 17 (v GWS) - 9
Rd 16 (v Melb) - 9
Rd 15 (v WB) - 7
Rd 14 (v Coll) - 8
Rd 13 (v Ess) - 5
Rd 11 (v Rich) - 9
Rd 10 (v Adel) - 9
Rd 9 (v WCE) - 7
Rd 8 (v Haw) - 6
Rd 7 (v PA) - 8
Rd 6 (v GC) - 7
Rd 5 (v Carl) - 6
Rd 4 (v StK) - 5
Rd 3 (v Bris) - 8
Rd 2 (v Syd) - 5
Rd 1 (v Geel) - 6

Does this look about right?

Not watching enough to say whether that's good on a game by game basis. From what I've seen (which is only probably 6ish Freo games), read and heard he's arguably the 2nd best key defender this year behind Richards. Freo fans are saying he is roughly as good as last year and I thought he was outstanding last year. Unlucky not to be AA as well.

After analysing his year, he will certainly be well entrenched in the top 50.
Might not jump him as high as he should be but will be mindful to watch him closely in these last couple of games.

Good rating on the WCE vs Bris game, I agree. Shuey also would be deserving of a 7+. Was important early in getting 10 clearances and several inside 50's.
Redden's consistency could almost be rewarded with re-entry into the 50, but already lots of good players in there.

Would be hilarious if West Coast make top 4 this year with Gaff B&F and Darling Leading Goalkicker. Both were only drafted as 18yo's 2 seasons ago, would be almost unprecedented for a decent team. Darling more of a chance than Gaff though.

McPharlin is putting together an outstanding season. Agreed on McVeigh, has quietly worked his way into a consistent season, an unlucky for now.
