noone from geelong? maybe its a tired point, but what about rioli from scotch, would he fit a top ten? i reckon if ur gonna put ainger in, junior should be there also.

Your top 10 is pretty good, i dunno about Watts though. Hawkins from Melb Grammar would be up there, as would Smith and Rioli from Scotch. Kennedy from Xavier also is abit stiff. Laidlaw is an outstanding player but can be made to look better because of the poor standard of football played by his team-mates, so maybe he's abit high.

Yeh... the list i posted was just off the top of my head, i've heard about Hawkins and Rioli, but haven't yet seen them play. Not familar with Smith....Just going off players i have seen and can judge.. :)
 
Hawkins is the 2nd best player in the aps behind ellis. both will play afl no doubts about it. He is better than any other centre half forward, such as ainger and moose. Plays rover like Jonathon Brown and stills manages to take 15 marks every week and atleast 4 goals, half the time he does this double teamed all before half time.

I would probably put Tom Hawkins in there. He's and out and out star at MGS with Xavier Ellis. Hawkins is a tall, big forward who is an unbelievable mark and a strong presence. Watch out for him in the blue and white hoops in future like his dad 'Jumping Jack' did for the Cats. Cats scouts are already drooling at the prospect of him lining up with Kingsley, Playfair and Ottens, with Chappy and Gazz swooping at his feet.

After much thought and consideration i've decided to post my top 10 APS players of season 2005, please note that they do not include any Haileybury players as i have not seen them in action this season.

no anthony raso davo, considering hes alreading been drafted id have to say he would be a top ten in there, also aaron murray would have to be close?
 
Yeah dirtycat, you obviously missed my side note, i did not include any Haileybury's because i haven't seen them this year.

Rioli is the most overated footballer in the Aps. He only gets a rap because of the legendary Maurice Rioli and that other Rioli from essendon who is a complete hack.

Hawkins is overated. I watched the game down at geelong college and he got taken to the cleaners by some absoulute beanpole for college. Turns out the college kid plays Vic Country U16, but still hawkins had the weight and height over this kid and he barely touched the ball. Hawkins would be far from my top 10 APS players
