Who will be remembered more fondly by the LOLski fans?

There is such a considerable difference in their fates before joining Chelscum and while being employed at Stamford Bridge.

Torres has plenty of time to turn it around at Chelsea.

I think its no coincidence that the likes of Crespo, Shevchenko and Torres (so far) have failed at Chelsea. The team is/was clueless at how to use them properly as they were adapted to targetmen upfront.

So you're saying AC need to buy Torres?:p

Lol maybe but they have Ibrahack now anyway.

This same Torres was scoring and creating goals for us just a few months ago even if he was nowhere near his best. Now he can't even hit the ball on the volley.

He created nothing. He scored a few cheapo goals when teams played more attacking brand of football against you as you slid down the table but aside from that hes done nothing for a while now

He relies on his pace, now he has none. His lack of pace becomes more and more noticable as teams play a more defensive brand/park the bus style of football. His performances for Chelsea mirror those he put in with Spain. Both teams were approached in a similar style by managers. Little to no space in the front third.

Torres just doesnt have the ability to create space for himself. Hes finished

I am just glad that we don't have to deal with that problem.:)

Maybe Torres knew that he was finished and with Liverpool desperately needing to rebuild the squad, he knew that his value would diminish heaps if he didn't leave in Jan.

Maybe he did what was best for the club?

Torres loves Liverpool as much as Shearmagic9 likes skinny white men.

I reckon he does love the club, he knew he could get a better financial deal for himself and his family from Chelsea, he knew Liverpool would put the 50m to good use and that they would build a young squad capable of challenging for the title in a season or two.

So, from the outside looking in, it seems as he did the right thing by the club leaving when the 50m offer came in.

Torres loves himself. That's about it. Same with all footballers. They're all self-indulgent morons, really.

Wonder how much influence Abramovich is having on Ancelotti, how could Ancelotti possibly justify starting Torres this morning?

Its kind of ironic that Drogba due more negative attention/press in his move to Chelsea then these two combined. I remember back in 2006 or 07 putting a bet on Drogba to win the golden boot and everyone laughing at me. He was that poorly thought of

In the end Drogba did more for Chelsea then these two could/could do in 5 lifetimes.

Thread degenerates into an Embers betting thread...

Not my point at all. My point was merely how hasbeens at big prices are seen as good buys whereas young talent with a future and a big price is seen as terrible business.

Same can kind of be said about Suarez and Carroll TBH. Everyone has laughed at there price tags but atleast they have a future. Torres/Shevchenko dont and never did. There best had past them a long time before they entered the doors of Stamford Bridge

Carroll & Suarez for 57m>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Dzeko & Ballotelli for 52m>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Torres for 50m

Carroll & Suarez for 57m > Torres for 50m > Dzeko and Balotelli for 52m.

Balosmelli :D hah! What a horrible, horrible, horrible footballer.

Torres as he has time on his side i think his best is still to come for Chelsea

Unfortunately for Torres and for Chelsea his best years are behind him. Will never be the player he was 07-09.

JW is right, Torres thought he could rip off Chelsea and save Liverpool, he should be remembered as a hero.

Now if only the useless Chavs could take Stevie G off our hands for 40 million a and Reina for 30 million our epic swindle of Chelsea would be complete. Heck, I'd even throw Joe Cole in as a deal sweetner if they were prepared to do both of those deals :)

One of the worst footballing displays I have ever seen against us on the weekend. I think they would have been better of with Jo on the field.

Would rather keep Reina tbh.
