I emailed StratagemSports asking about the reserves competition etc. and this was their reply...

Joel,

The reserves competition is pretty simplistic in that it uses the old style
where every senior team has a reserves team. So there are no Williamstown's
or Coburg's for example.

You can get sacked, but its highly unlikely you will get sacked for one poor
season. It normally takes a few years down near the bottom and a drastic
loss of form.

Your question on how successful was TAR2003 depends on what you mean by
successful. We obviously didn't sell truck loads because we didn't advertise
or market the game, and as you mention the target audience is quite small,
however the feedback we had from our customers was fantastic. The amount of
emails and enthusiasm we've had over the last couple of months for the 2004
version has been huge, so looking forward to the release with interest.

Hopefully the demo allows for substantial use of most of the features and gameplay.

the demo contains the full version but you can only play 1 year of the home and away season with no finals

you download the demo and unlock the full version thats within it by paying for it

came out basically right on midnight

brillant thanks for the heads up, by the time i finish typing this i should have it to test out, guess i will put bed time off just a little longer :D

First impression: A bit disappointing. Many of the player rankings were wrong IMO, and the display is overcomplicated, unlike the simple style of the last version. You will know when you try and pick a team. It also ran very slowly, although that could be my computer.

ran fine on mine

bit overcomplicated but looks good, now i just have 2 find 30 bucks

one thing i was dissapointed with is the commentary

mainly coz with FF i basically ran it at a speed that i could atleast read the players name in the commentary, and i was helped by the fact that one team was blue, the other green

in this its a bit harder so i realli just watch the red footy instead

it seems pretty good and i can see myself forking out 30 bucks for it very soon

i was also expecting a bit more from the newspaper

but the game has come in leaps and bounds from TAR 03 which got 2 boring, 2 quickly IMO

It's a massive disappointment - I can understand the ratings being poor, because we'll be able to change that, but the match screen is clumsy and inelegant and not having rookie lists, let alone the players from the rookie lists, i.e Davey, Lovett-Murray, is frankly one of the most glaring omissions in a game I've seen. This game cannot be considered an accurate representation of AFL football management and thus we wait and hope that Matt can deliver with the next Footy Fanatic. The previous Footy Fanatic, though buggy, is a lot more fun and realiastic than this rubbish.

i agree with you totally. i got up at 2 in the morning to download it an dim disapointed. its alright but i rather footy fanatic 2.2. by the way any news on footy fanatic

Very dissapointing:( But i will pay the 30 for the full version

this is worse than footy fanatic, the features are all great but the game play is terrible. Would be worth playing for free but not to pay for.
