Tour de France 2018

He’s 33? Been given leadership in multiple grand tours and has flopped everytime. Sure a broken collarbone is bad luck but last years crash was 100% his own doing because he can’t descend. When he was leader at Sky at the Giro he crashed and was out of the running. He’s been on the wrong end when the peloton has split and lost time to his GC rivals. He can climb like a goat but he can’t hold it together for 3 weeks.

He has been out by himself and not riding for froome for 3 years now, he had a mechanical that cost him 2nd to froome in 2016 and has crashed out of the 2017, 2018 tours. His ONLY other GC attempt he was 3rd in the Giro before again crashing and failing to finish the race.

Not sure where people get this stupid misconception he has had multiple chances and failed, he has lead his team at a total of 4 grand tours and now crashed out of 3 of them.

Hopefully he recovers and has a crack at the vuelta this year, he is too good to not have a grand tour to his name.

GVA is struggling to find suitors, due to age and the $$$ he's asking. He's a classics specialist, so he's not really tied to Porte's GC chances.
Shame. One of my favourite riders in the professional peleton. You'd think he'll find somewhere.

I still have lots of faith that the Giro will have taken it out of him. Looking forward to watching him crack on Tuesday.
I really hope it's true.
