So he'lll somehow need to make up heaps of time before then. Ah well, a podium finish would be a great result anyway.
He has to make up 1' 53" + at least 1 extra second provided Contador doesn't pick up any time bonuses on the 3 flat stages of tonight, tomorrow and in Paris on Sunday and they both finish with the same time on these 3 flat stages. Seeing as he was 1' 04" faster than him at Albi, finding an extra 50 seconds is not impossible.
Smallest winning margin was 8 seconds by Greg LeMond (USA) in 1989. Not bad after 3,500kms of racing.
