Probably worth giving up the 2nd mini draft pick if you could get a first rounder for Giles which is realistic. You still get a 1st rounder that you would expect for the mini-draft and you get a good ruck.

Something like this seems logical, probably for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. The other club gets something back for a player they think won't be first team, GWS gets an upgrade at KPD.

You barrack for Adelaide you'd be giving up nothing. GWS would likely get Freo's first pick too and a first rounder for Giles would make up for the fact it's not a top 10 pick.

Don't rate Seaby, he's had more than enough opportunity with Sydney and hasn't made it, I'd target Minson ahead of him.

I think theyd want an early second rounder. he is very highly rated. its just glass is an AA FB. mckenzie is quite good as well. I think you guys will be happy spending an early second on a key back. especially considering you'll have to trim your list soon. perhaps you'll only be using the minimum 3 picks

I'd have Mitch in the highly desirable category, and as you say might just be attainable.

I wouldnt be satisified with any offer Richmond could reasonably make, including their first rounder this year.

The kid is under contract, and theres a strong chance he will extend later this year or next year. For reasons of border control, we need to make a statement on that ... and if he still wants to go next year, then Richmond can make an offer then.

If Richmond could upgrade their pick to something in the top 3, that'd be fair. If they couldn't, and that's probably the case, you'd probably have to look at something like pick 9 and Vickery or a non-Post KPD. That latter one seemed to get all the Richmond supporters up in arms on the D&T board, but a first year kid who was pick 3 the previous year and is still under contract is not cheap.

it would never be that easy for us anyway would pretty obviously have to add more picks or a decent player(s)

That proposed trade is a rubbish deal for us.

As it stands the Western Bulldogs are all over Jack Martin and are very likely to part with either pick 5 or 6 for him. Then we still have our mini draft pick 2 which should also get an early first round draft pick, maybe even pick 4 from Melbourne.

So why would we trade one of our most promising kids to get picks 5 and 6??

If Tyson is intent on leaving then maybe we have to do something rather then getting nothing but this trade is very much unbalanced in Richmond's favour. They will need to throw in a decent young key defender to make it more palatable.

Don't get me wrong, Post isn't as bad as most make out to be and will certainly not be delisted. The thing with him is opportunities. We have Rance, Grimes and Griffiths who are holding the key spots and we wouldn't entertain even a straight swap with one of them for Tyson. Another that comes to mind is Jake Batchelor, he is best 22 easily, has an excellent kick, plays above his height, loves to throw his weight around. He could be a part of a trade for Tyson.
